I Have To Start Getting Out Of Bed Earlier Again

Another late start to my day. Not good.
Another short blog post. Not good.

Tac O’Mac Indeed!
I worked until 7pm last night and one of my coworkers asked me if I wanted to head to Taco Mac for a beer. I was hesitant at first, but then he mentioned that he wanted to go over to the Taco Mac at The Prado, and that if it was too crowded that we could go downstairs and drink at The Fred. So, I agreed.

Taco Mac was indeed flooded with green last night, but with “only” a fifteen-minute wait and a comfortable night to sit outside and wait for a table, we decided to hang around. I gave up the ghost around 10:30pm, right when the second round (read “younger”) coworkers started to arrive. Truth be told, that Taco Mac had started to empty and I know my limits for a school night.

Sorry, I let the stream run dry. I’ll try again in Monday’s post.

Taco Mac Tonight? Perhaps, My Pretty, Perhaps
I know. I know. I go to Taco Mac too much. Fine. However, I may be darkening the doors at the Perimeter Mall location tonight for an early happy hour. It’ll have to be early in order to beat the NCAA basketball crowd. At least I won’t have to deal with St Patrick’s Day revelers.

Big Weekend Of Chores Ahead
Weather forecasters are saying that this weekend in Atlanta will be fantastic — 80s for the high tomorrow, mid-60s on Sunday. I, still being gimped, will be spending the majority of my time in my house working on some projects.

  • kitchen cleaning
  • bedroom straightening
  • basement cleaning
  • network rewiring

Wish me well.

My one known journey out of the house will be to go to the chiropractor on Saturday afternoon. Fun! 🙁 Since the doctor’s office is in midtown I may see about going to the High Museum afterward.

And who knows, I might even go on a Sears shopping spree. 😉

Stats & Goals
Daily
Current Mood – getting better physically, still kinda messed up otherwise
Current Music – silence, but not for long
Website Of The Day – When I was young(er) and trying to meet women in Atlanta I used to play co-ed sports for Atlanta Sport and Social Club and Atlanta Club Sports (anyone else do this back in the 1990s?). While that plan worked well for a lot of the friends I met back then, it didn’t work for me. Perhaps if Atlanta Bocce League were around then I might have had more success.

You need help getting up in the morning?? What time should I call you? I’m up at 5, showered, dressed and horses fed by 5:30 and on the 6 o’clock bus. Of course, the problem with that schedule is I’m toast by 9:30… it’s a real late night if I’m still awake at 11.

The news from JEFDSDR is the beast is getting replaced today!! The original beast has served us well and will have a good home with Debbie’s brother Andy. The new beast:

will be more flexible and will be much more usable.
The beast is dead, long live the beast!!

  2. My problem is that I allow myself to return to bed. My first alarm goes off at 5:15am. That alarm is in the den, so I get out of bed to turn it off, and then return to bed. My second and third alarms go off in the bedroom and I have become quite adept at turning those off an immediately returning to sleep. Warmer mornings will help as I’ll be less likely to return to bed to be warm again.

    Congrats on the new beast.

This week has be really rough for getting up…I only made it to the gym one morning this week.

We ended up at Little Azio’s last night, I was in no mood for cooking and I couldn’t bare the thought of more pork or turkey. I wanted to get it to go, Jerry wanted to eat there…he even offered the incentive to NOT have to stay in Symra this weekend…Deal!!

I got a little yard work done yesterday, I finished caulking the shed so hopefully there will be time to paint it next week. Raked some leaves, mowed the front yard and got 40 of my 300 blubs in the ground. I’m planning on having a large amount of mulch delivered but I think I will wait until after Sweetwater, I can’t see myself having the time or energy for such a project until then.

Get out an take a walk this weekend…it will be good for you to get moving. I have a dog or two you can borrow as well.

  4. Walking is still a bit of a chore, but I do plan to try and get out sometime this weekend.

  5. Jenka says:

I’m exhausted because I haven’t been able to sleep all week due to the time change. I have tons to do this weekend, but Sunday will be ALL REST because next week at work is going to be brutal. And I have jury duty on Tuesday to top it off!

There is no apostrophe when a word is plural, and that goes for numbers, too. So the weather will be in the 80s, and I didn’t take part in ATL Sports Clubs in the 1990s, mostly because I was still in college up in Upstate New York. 🙂

I bought Meredith’s (Mudd’s) tennis racket a couple of weeks ago and have yet to use it. Does anyone play tennis (as badly as I do)?

  6. I thought that I was making an error when I typed those, but was too lazy to check.

I gave up on tennis years ago. Besides, in my gimpy condition sports requiring sprinting and sudden direction changes are not in my immediate future.

  7. Martha says:

I use to play tennis, still have all my gear, maybe even a cute skirt or two still left over. I haven’t play since 2007 when I tore my ACL, those side to side/lateral movements are hard without one. I could probably be convinced to hit the ball around sometime after work, weekends are too busy with running. Tomorrow is going to be a long day.

If you all could do me a favor and send out some good vibes for Purdue tonight. I know they are playing a 13 seed…but they’ve struggled their last two games, sigh…

  8. Jenka says:

Ha! I don’t get home from work until 8 pm. Looks like our schedules are directly opposite, Martha. Oh well!

  9. Martha says:

8pm??? I’ll say, that’s only an hour until my bed time…

  10. Randy says:

Since Barb and Allan are in NC, I will volunteer to send Hellos from the Groves and the Beebes. Have a great weekend, everyone – at least those who might check ITP after 4pm on a Friday 🙂

  11. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

    I check 24/7. 😉

Hope you all have a great weekend as well.
