Fridays Have Become Tough

Physical therapy is really messing with my blogging. However, news of today is that next Friday is scheduled to be my final physical therapy session. I guess that means by next Friday I’ll be “fixed?”

btw- did anyone read last Friday’s blog?

  1. Barb says:

    yeah – Steve told me………

  2. Just figured that I’d play it safe in case you didn’t want to know until you were able to catch up later.

My condolences to your viewing pleasure.

  3. Martha says:

    Jerry’s been watching, I have not…

Now that you are almost ‘fixed’, we will see you out running and biking? I hope so…Sunday would be a good start.

Totally off topic, though I know it has been discussed here…I was at Best Buy this week and I noticed when I walked in they have recycle bins right by the doors for the following: Plastic bags, Rechargeable batteries, CDs and CD jewel cases, Wires, cords, and cables, Remotes and controllers, Gift cards and Ink and toner cartridges.

Lowes also had a bin by the front door for rechargeable batteries, CFLs and plastic bags as well.

  4. I’ve volunteered to be Designate Bacon Maker on Sunday. Running and cycling (mountain bike on road until new “Red Rocket” acquired) will begin next week.

Thanks Martha. I have a bunch of stuff like that to get rid of, but rarely do I venture into retail stores these days.

  5. Barb says:

I guess I ought to read my primer email – I may jsut join everyone Sunday. (Allan is working at the firehouse, so I won’t be on deck building duty)

  6. I just figured that you were accounted for, Barb. Hope to see you there. I’ll make extra bacon and eat your share if you can’t make it. 😉

  7. Barb says:

We do have a pool party to go to Saturday, but since we will be arriving very late compared to everyone else (again, damn deck), I don’t see a hangover in my future, so I should be able to ride that next morning. And – I should be able to eat bacon, so don’t be thinking you get to eat my share.

BTW – did you eat any of those jalapenos yet? I may try to make some salsa/pico this weekend, now that we have gotten a few “extra” tomatoes.

  8. So fancy pants with pool parties and deck buildings. 🙂

I had one of the jalapeños last weekend when I made jalapeño/cheese grits for breakfast. They have a nice kick to them.

  9. Big wreck just happened at about 37km remaining. Another known rider appears to have just crashed out. Yep, he’s out with a broken collarbone.

  10. Stacy Fox says:

Wait. There’s bacon on Sunday somewhere? *grin*

  11. Stacy, Public Enema has resurrected the Sunday Runners group for his annual Cheesy Tour de France gathering.

    Bacon
    Beer/Champagne
    Running/Riding

  12. Debbie says:

    Sorry about Tom, Barb.

Paulie we went to Taco Mac in your honor last night. We had a cute, sweet waitres and I really enjoyed my dinner. I’m not typically a fan of Taco Mac food, but the black bean burger wrap was tasty. Maybe we’ll go back sooner rather than later.

My jaw is really unhappy today after yesterday’s dental disaster.

Y’all have fun on Sunday and eat some bacon for us. Steve is off to Las Vegas that morning and I’m volunteering at a horse show.

  13. Steve says:

Phil just reported the “chase group” is 80 strong and 2:00 off the back. That’s gotta suck. Still 8km out, Levi just had to get a rear wheel from Mavic… damn he’s having a bad tour.

  14. Steve says:

Ho hum, sprint finish, guess who won… but the big news is the H.U.G.E group that just finished over 3 minutes down. Wow.

  15. Barb says:

Paulie – friends with pools are people we work hard to keep as friends……. and feel free to come help with the deck building, you are more than welcome.

thanks for all the Tour reports – hopefully we can fast forward thru it all tonight to the good stuff. I’m waiting for Chris Horner to do something, since Levi just isn’t having a good race.

Debbie – you ate a black bean burger wrap last night after that dental stuff? You are better than me………

  16. I just caught up after lunch. Not surprised so many lost big time as that was a messy crash and took some time to untangle folks on a narrow road.

Debbie, sorry to read of your dental mishap and even more sorry that you and Steve will be absent on Sunday. At which Taco Mac did you eat?

Barb, believe me when I say that you don’t want me to help build a deck. I do not possess the best building skills.

  17. Debbie says:

We were at the Newnan Taco Mac. According to the beer guy at the local super Kroger they feel it’s important to have a diverse beer selection due to the Taco Mac introducing so many different brews to the locals. So we owe Taco Mac a debt of gratitude every time we go to the grocery. 🙂

I built the deck at our Brockett house so I have some experience and Steve is handy as heck so we’ll have to plan a work day.

  18. Steve says:

Looks like our only chance to help will be next weekend, so start devising a plan. Unless I hit the jackpot big in Vegas.. so start a plan.

The TM experience last night was pretty good. The waitress was right in your wheelhouse, Paulie.. except for that age thing…

  19. Pity, that “age thing” is starting to bite me in the ass as much as “my looks not being desirable thing” did when I was their age. 😉

  20. Martha says:

I built the deck here, so you don’t want my help…though I might do a better job with proper supervision. Steve, my guess is that Allan will have the deck finished by next weekend. We could always ambush Paulie’s yard…

Speaking of age, Jerry just figured out who the guys are on my ‘Turf War’ team. My gym is having a friendly competition at the end of the month, 2 guys 2 girls per team. To quote Jerry “they’re just freakn’ kids??”… yes, my team consists of two boys, about half my age (21 & 22) and another ‘woman of a certain age’…thus the team name of Cougars and Cubs.

  21. Barb says:

Next weekend – Allan works at the firehouse on Saturday, so I’m going to go to the Aveda Institute in Buckead & get my hair colored red again in the morning. Then Sunday is my birthday, but I have a feeling that day may be spend on the deck – maybe I can at least get Allan to quit early enough to get a a birthday dinner out of the deal.
    😉
