Match And Fire

Two new technologies — iTunes Match and Kindle Fire — entered my life yesterday. And me with no time to investigate nor review either. Oh well, maybe soon.

Back to work…

Cheers,

My Fire was waiting for me when I got home yesterday. So far I love it!! I can’t wait until I have more time to play with it. First impressions, it is pretty much set up right out of the box, just needed to hook it up my my network. The Silk browers works pretty fast, the movie picture is reall nice (no fuzz or skipping in the five minutes I was watching), super easy to get stuff off Amazon and I like that I can read in the dark….

The one con, so far, you can’t download the free videos, only the video you buy or rent.

    Happy Wednesday everyone!

All I can think of when people talk about their Fire is the old Pointer Sisters song.. earworm day!

So a browser, an E-reader, can you open attachments and the like?

And I forgot to report.. I’m home today taking care of Debbie after a bit of surgery, and I had let Farley out at 06:00 when he wanted to go. Never heard him bark much, which is his normal request to come back in. I went out at 07:30 to feed the horses and Farley has taken the hay out of the wheelbarrow and made himself a little nest underneath the shed roof where I normally park. I normally don’t think of Farley has beening a real smart dog, but he suprised me with this.

  4. Barb says:

tell Debbie to get well soon! did you take a picture of Farley for his facebook page?

Some day I will enter the 21st century & get an iPad, Kindle Fire, or at least a smart phone, but all I get to spend money on is the house. Allan bought a big nice patio door yesterday to go from the kitchen/mud room out to the deck so we don’t have to go thru the garage. So the penalty box (as Paulie called it) will not look like that anymore. And, in my darling husband’s usual crazy time frame, he wants to get it all installed by Thanksgiving. So, guess what we will be doing this weekend?

Just a reminder Red Top Rumble registration opened today at 10am, this race sold out pretty fast last year, I’m in! Who else??

That is pretty cute Steve, Nibbles is definatly the brains at our place, Logan is the muscle but every now and then he will surprise us…

Sending healing thoughts to Debbie, hope she’s better soon.

In. Sharon just signed me up since I was stuck on the connector for about an hour. I think this sells out in about 24 hours.

  7. My Fire arrived at work and it took all of my strength not to open and start playing with it. I messed with it for about thirty minutes last night.

I read about Debbie’s surgery on Facebook. Does this mean she’ll no longer be able to become hysterical? (that’s a joke, folks.) Thinking good thoughts for her speedy recovery.

Barb, there are many days I wish I had Allan’s will (stubbornness) to get things done. My faulty house would be much better off if I did.

re RTR: Out! Even though I was on the connector by 5:15am this morning (damn work!) I missed all of the rain-related mess. I’m not going to run Red Top Rumble because, even though I have a desire to start running again (hip willing), I won’t be in shape by the race.

TOP CHEF TONIGHT! Please Weather Gods clear the skies a bit to ensure quality satellite reception to my marginal install.

  8. bets says:

I hear there’s a tornado warning for this afternoon. I hope that marginal install is a hearty one! I’ll never forget the trauma of the last spring on final episode night…I insisted paulie should have enough contacts at Dish network to get the satellite up and running even though most of the city had lost power.

Shoot. If I waited to be in shape before running that RTR I’d never do one. I just run it misshapenly. 🙂

  9. Barb says:

    Mishapenly- I like that word.
I won’t be running RTR either – but that is because I just don’t run anymore – but I’d definitely be a mishapenly runner if I was still running.

We don’t have a dish anymore – so far I have only had one weather outage, which doesn’t make sense to be since the AT&T cables aren’t a dish, but the weather was really bad that night – so just too much water on the cables?

and – on a total different subject – a co-worker game me some ground venison & cube steak yesterday, we were harrassing him that he needed to roate his stock, since deer hunting season is starting up again.
So, not really sure what to do with the cube steak (not even really sure what that is), but we are making chili tomorrow or friday with the ground stuff.

  10. Terri (SW) says:

CRAP! Red Top sold out…I had a crazy day today and no time to get to the rego >:P. And I just spent an hour and a half in the halls for the tornado warning.

But at least the last two periods of my day are free! Yay! Sadly, off to class…boo.
