Back To Being Super-Busy

I’ve carved time out for exercise, but everything not work related must suffer again.

Yesterday’s Daily Challenge
Sit in the butterfly pose with the soles of your feet together.

Yoga helps promote flexibility, good posture, and relaxation, and it’s a type of exercise that doesn’t put stress on the joints. The butterfly pose in particular tones the hips and pelvis, and helps the thigh muscles become more flexible. Breathing deeply during the pose stimulates the relaxation response, which helps you feel calm and centered.

Jackmobile’s Cassette Tape Player, 2002-2012?
While driving to work yesterday listening to an audiobook the Jackmobile’s stereo went silent. At first I couldn’t understand why the iPod Touch I use for podcast listening quit playing. And then I looked down and noticed that the Jackmobile’s stereo had turned off.

I was relieved that the stereo turned back on, and popped out the cassette tape adapter, but no luck. Even worse, I couldn’t eject the adapter again; each attempt was greeted with indifference or a cryptic “Err” message.

When I was leaving work I tried ejecting the adapter again, this time with success. I was slightly thrilled when I noticed that my cheap (Dollar Store?) adapter had broken. I thought all was saved. I also have an old Sony adapter (these things used to be a dime-a-dozen) which I inserted into the cassette tape player. Unfortunately this didn’t solve the problem. So for now I’ll be unable to listen to podcasts/audiobooks while I commute. Dangen! I suppose I could return to listening to CDs, but I doubt that I’ll ever return to listening to the radio.

The Jackmobile is too old to warrant a new stereo, so I’ll have to figure out what I’ll be doing for the near future.

RealiTV Update: TAR — I Love You Again
Man, I thought that this week’s The Amazing Race was classic! Beard styling? Gingerbread house roof making? Clues which cloud which castle teams are supposed to visit in order to get their next clue? Curling (or whatever the German name for that sport is) with Travelocity gnomes? BRILLIANT!

Now if we can only get Rachel (sp) to stop acting like a five-year-old child.

  1. Ronnie AKA Bill says:

Try hooking the iPod to an FM Transmitter and then “tune in” the FM radio to that frequency.

  2. Oooh, I forgot about FM transmitters. Thanks bro!

  3. Steve says:

I had an FM transmitter for my Sirius in my old Plymouth and it worked OK, except there is barely a spare frequency in Atlanta that isn’t being used by some station or other.

An update on last nights adventures in dog ownership- Farley located and consumed the contents of a tube of horse dewormer. His size was his advantage, as even though he ate the dosage for a horse, he seems fine this morning. The evening was spent with the staff at Southern Crescent Emergency Vet Clinic and meeting some very nice folks there.

And I forgot to mention yesterday that since you haven’t been taking pictures lately, we shot some hearths for you. You’re welcome.

  4. Oh Farley! Well, at least he won’t have worms?

Really? I plan to resume my hearth-photo-taking when time permits. I’ll be sure to ask the locations when that time occurs.

  5. Observant ITP-Readers will notice that I was in such a rush to publish this morning that completely forgot that I didn’t select a Website Of The Day.

  6. Barb says:

we caught up on Amazing Race Sunday night, and even though I was pretty tired, I do remember most of that. I REALLY want Rachel gone, she is just too whiny for me.

glad to hear Farley is ok.

  7. bob says:

Back from an awesome visit with the Bebe’s.
It is funny how Lisa was getting a message from you while you were with the neighbor we were collecting chicken eggs from. So random.

Is anybody in ITP blog world thinking about doing the ride to the capitol next week? I’ll be riding down, having lunch and a few beers than Marta-ing home.

  8. Barb says:

Bob – what day is it? I know, I could look it up, but I”m too lazy. I probably cant’ get the day off, but maybe Allan can.

BTW – Matt & Amy said to tell you (and anyone else that knows them) HI. They will be back in September for her sister’s wedding.

  9. Steve says:

Damn Bob, that is tempting- I’d park in College Park and MARTA up to Roswell. Let me think on that one.

  10. bob says:

Cool Barb, it will be nice to see them again. Not sure we can swing a Spain trip.

The ride is next Tuesday the 27th. Always a good time, specially since you get a police escort to stop traffic at intersections.
