Going Mobile

I’m writing today’s blog via iPad while sitting at the Flying Biscuit in Sandy Springs waiting on a coworker with whom I will have breakfast. What, no LA Fitness today? No, I am taking a rest day.

It’s will be my excuse for writing a limited blog with no photo and little format.

Today is also Day One for knocking out a lot of tasks which live in my OmniFocus task list. After breakfast I need to swing by Target as well as the dry cleaner prior to sliding into the office for a long day of work.

Except for the pending need to reopen the wound known as “Bike Wreck 2011” I had a fairly good MLK Jr / Inaguration Day. After work last night I cursed home on the holiday-tradfic-lightened streets and proceeded to clean up my guest bedroom for the guest who will arrive Thursday, as well as cook up some food for me to eat for dinner, as well as the next two lunches. On my stove I prepared a pot of pasta which I mixed with a jar or marinara with mushroom, and hard-boiled some eggs.

My Budget Has To Budge

If past history is any indication of future outcome I am about to lose about 20% of the remainder of my bike accident settlement. Because of this I am probably going to cancel my “big” trip for 2013. The amount I will have to injustly fork over is enough to cover water heater replacement as well as exterior iron repair/repainting. So in order to get those done this year within my budget I will have to trade away any trip that I was going to take.

I am not pleased by this turn of events.

Well, my coworker just arrived so I should wrap this up as to not be rude.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

  1. Looking at legal documents.

    I’m fucked.

Looks as if in the end it would have been cheaper not to file a lawsuit but rather paid through my own health insurance.

  2. Stacy says:

I’m really sorry to hear that, Paulie. It disgusts me when innocent victims (like you in this case) continue to get victimized. 🙁

  3. Steve says:

I like that you “cursed” home in the holiday traffic!

Sorry about your unfinished business. Just when you think it’s all behind you, it comes back to bite you in the ass. 🙂

As Debbie is still off with her mom in FLA, I had the unfortunate duty of waking up all the dogs and getting everyone fed before heading to the office. While the horses seem awake at that time, the dogs needed some encouragement. I’m going to try and bug out of here so the puppy isn’t crossing her legs all day long. The older dogs won’t have a problem, but still.

    Any more news on hockey?

  4. Laura says:

    Hockey:
Game on Sunday is at 4:05 p.m.

    Ticket prices are as follows:

    Glass: $30/advance $31/day of game
    Club: $20 / $21
    Premium: $18 / $20
    Corners: $17 /$18
    End Zone: $13 / $14
    Mezzanine $10 / $11

  5. I’d blame autocorrect for cruised -> cursed, but there may have been some Freudian slippage involved. 😉 Actually traffic was so nice there was little need for cursing.

Pick a section and I am in. Buy me a ticket too and I’ll have cash for you on Sunday!

  6. Laura says:

    Sure thing. Anyone else interested?

  7. Steve says:

We are interested as well. If you’re able to purchase in advance for us, I’ll purchase you a delicious malt beverage for your trouble!

  8. Barb says:

I think Allan & I will be able to go – he said sounds like fun.
I say we go with premium seats? (what is club?)
I think we should invite Kevin Beebe too, he’s my hockey buddy.

  9. Laura says:

    Steve, sure thing.
Barb, I don’t know how to get in touch with him. I’m not FB friends with him. Can you handle that?

Also, if we can get 20 people, we can get a group rate of $15 for premium, which is normally $20. So far we have 10 people interested (3 Knolls, 2 Groves, 2 Bradys 1 Paul and 1 Kevin). I’m not sure I know 10 more people, but I think you do Barb 🙂 If not, Barb do you want me to get the tix so we are all together?

  10. Laura says:

As for the question about what the levels mean, I direct your attention to their diagram:
    http://www.gwinnettgladiators.com/site/tickets/individualgame.asp

    Hope that helps.

I just realized we’re only really saving $3 on the premium seats since we’re buying in advance. I really don’t care where we sit, except for glass b/c that price just seems a bit steep IMHO.

  11. Barb says:

I probably do know enough people, but not sure if I have time to find them…. LOL
I FB messaged Kevin & Jean & copied you in Laura.
My friend Felicia will be in town (staying with us) too, she may want to go, I just emailed her to ask.

BTW – bike maintenance night is still on for Thursday night, I’m going to make some Mexican crockpot chicken to eat in soft tortillas.
And- for those of you wondering, Bruce’s bike finally got finished yesterday, he brought whatever other part(s) that were needed & Bruce is now gone.

  12. Martha says:

I’m going to make an effort to come to bike night, what time are things getting started? I may be taking Friday off, since I worked half the long weekend.

Oh Steve, I wish I had your problem…Nibbles usually scratches at the door around 4am, most days I can get her to sleep another hour or two before she has to go outside or she wants breakfast, never does she let me sleep past 6am. Of course once she has finished her morning routine, she’s back asleep (resting up for her midnight gab session with the neighborhood dogs) and I am wide awake.

Remind me to tell you the story of the puppy and the HVAC vents next time I see you.

Paulie, can you not still submit the claim to your insurance company?

  13. Not sure if I can submit the claim(s) to insurance yet. I’m going to discuss this with the chiropractor’s office tomorrow.

  14. Barb says:

bike maintenance night will start 5:30pm or after….
