Ugh

A weekend away has left me under a mountain of work and a cold and/or allergies. Come back tomorrow, will you?

Until then, let me know in the comments how your Mother’s Day weekend went.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

I went for a quick trip down to Port St. Joe, FL, where it rained ALL DAY Saturday. What a disappointment! All I wanted to do was sit on the beach, is that too much to ask? Since there’s nothing else to do down there, we drank. Home yesterday afternoon where the weather was PERFECT. Damn you, Mother Nature! Otherwise, great weekend visiting friends. Heh.

Except for working Saturday and celebrating MD yesterday we did little else. I don’t think I even exercised all weekend. No excuse.

Saturday we went mtn biking, I was riding like a beginner, even crashed once for no reason that I can figure out. Cut it a little short, before I got hurt…..

Bought a lime tree, it looks like a bush, we will see what happens there.
Bought what I called a big slab of ribeye from Kroger – at $4.99/lb we decided we could channel our inner butcher. Cut it into steaks, so now the freezer is stocked.
Went & saw a blues band at Darwin’s Saturday night for a friends birthday.

Sunday we went & did a road ride up Carterville way – did the 47 mile route from Sosabee with Drew & Michelle. (looks like he’s building some sort of deck out there, I wonder if he’s going to add a covered shelter of some sort?)
Then they came back to the house for some bike maintenance, they are flying with the bikes to Tahoe to do a ride around the lake in a few weeks.
Mary & TJ joined the 4 of us for dinner.

Pretty low key! Oil change & rotation, church, lunch with a friend. But oooh! Finally walked the Beltline from Piedmont Park to Inman Park. Yeah, that walk is ridiculously easy now. I see much much use of it in my future! Ever feel like doing a walk with lunch/beer stops one of these fine days, let me know! [that goes for any ITP reader… it’d be a fun little Reader Event!]

  5. Barb says:

Stacy – we rode that part of the Beltline for the Spring Dress hash – it is pretty cool- I’d be up for a walk with lunch & beer stops!
    Sounds like a fun afternoon!

  6. Stacy says:

Right? We could all meet and start at one point, walk a good mile or so, stop for a beer someplace on the route, then pick up and head to our next stop a mile or so down the line. Lather, rinse, repeat! At least we’d be walking off our brewskies!

We’re in. We might even bring the Farls if he isn’t limping.

Fighting the good fight with the pool pump. Got it reinstalled, but connections are leaking. Had to reak for a 1:30 call. Work on my day off? What’s up with that?

TOC at 5:00 on the NBC Spurts network.

  8. Barb says:

Steve – TJ was over & insisted on watching the race yesterday. It was funny, I think he is missing not being there more than he will admit.

I”m guessing you will be working in Chattanooga in a few weeks?

  9. Steve says:

I am and looking forward to it.

  10. Any planning for 2013 Summer Slacker events? 🙂
