Greetings From Asheville, NC

I’m sitting at Starbucks on the south side of Asheville across from the Biltmore Hotel. I’ve just consumed my second piece of “bad” food, a piece of pumpkin “bread,” and am working on my second cup of coffee as well. The first food intake of the day was a apple fitter purchased from QT on I-85 where I gassed up the Jackmobile for the journey. I’ll be killing time at Starbucks until noon, when my Neutral Milk Hotel ticket purchase fate has been determined and then it’s on to LEAF.

So far the trip has been uneventful with only two near-misses with state troopers, neither time was I exceeding the posted speed limit to such a degree that I would have been their primary target. The weather forecast for Black Mountain, NC for the weekend is sketchy, but we’ll go about make the best of the situation.

Today kicks off a vegetarian weekend, as I do any time I co-mingle with the Raleigh Royalty, and my consumption of non-meat related crap has kicked the long weekend off well.

Have a great weekend all!

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga] — currently in Asheville, NC

Tell all the Beebes we say hi – hopefully the weather won’t be bad.

and – just a note from someone that knows, if you get a speeding ticket going 80 or more in NC – you HAVE to appear to court, or hire a lawyer to go for you. So, to save some serious aggravation, keep it under 80.

  2. Will do.

Thanks for the head’s up. I’m a fairly close-to-the-limit driver these days but it never hurts to be reminded.

Oh yeah, apparently this site has had some “suspicious” activity — something else that I will have to deal with upon my return ITP.

  3. SUCCESS! 😀

    I’m off to LEAF.

Well, at least partially successful. Apparently I need to have the credit card that I used to purchase the tickets with me for entry, so now I need to find it.

    ITP suspicious activity? Every day!!

Off to a slow start. A few chores, a trip to Lowes and Tractor Supply (!!!) and then lunch, before Debbie heads West for a funeral of an old business associate in MS tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will not be as bad as predicted for all parties this weekend.

Since I’m working tomorrow, I’ll try and swing by the Tour de Fat, if the weather is cooperating. Sounds like a fun time.

Sunday is Mothers Day, so a happy MD to those that are, those that could be, and even those that choose not to be. Appreciate your mom while you can.

Your site is not flagged as suspicious here, and I’m the one who would flag it at work 🙂

    Have fun at LEAF.

Steve, I’ll be at tour de fat rain or shine so come find me.
