A Quick One

In addition to not having much about which to blog my day at work is going to be a busy one. I MARTA’d in today in order to avoid Friday Rush Hour + Braves playoff traffic. I think I made a good decision.

Given that I am skipping Lake Hartwell again my weekend won’t contain much fun (and the chance of me getting left behind at the end of the hash is 0% again), especially since I want to concentrate on house-related bullshit tomorrow.

Let’s hope the Greater ITP Metro Area doesn’t get too much rain on Sunday.

Have a great weekend all!

Cheers!

Here’s some interesting gossip for you(since you aren’t on FB) – Drew, as in Little Easy) applied for a job & got it at CSU in Fort Collins! So, he & Michelle have some major life changes to make!

I kind of want it to rain this weekend, so we can get more work done on the floors.

The visit to the doctor was not great news- I have a needle biopsy to look forward to after the Games. My dad had prostate cancer, my brother too, so I guess I’m carrying a family tradition… no worries.

20 really hard miles last night, felt good and just drilled it- averaged almost 18 and it weren’t flat!

Apparently every commissaire in the country who works cyclocross knew Amy Dombrowski and the FB was full of rememberances… very sad, indeed.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Got the word today, looks like we *may* close the renovation loan on Monday, YIKES!!

If the rain holds, we’re going to Grant Park on Sunday for the cycolcross race…

Not much news on the work front…so I’m packing for a ride. Maybe with a little free time I can get things back on track and start a little packing??

  4. Martha says:

Steve, good thoughts coming your way! That is one tradition you do not want to continue.

  5. Steve says:

I have to look at the race schedule- I’m coming into the office to begin an upgrade at 2PM- I think I’ll be there before work- there is a big group going off at 12:15, but CMB and Coach Clit will be racing at 9:15 ( at least I think they are still racing 5’s).

  6. Barb says:

Well the good thing (as if there is anything good about it) about prostate cancer is if they catch it early enough, you have a very very good chance of being fine after the treatment. My dad went thru it, he is just fine now.

Felicia & I just walked to the grocery store for some avocados last night, according to her phone it is a 3.5 mile walk. it was a gorgeous night for a walk.

Martha – on Monday? dang, that was quick!

  7. Martha says:

lol, Barb, I hope you are being sarcastic??? We submitted the first round of paperwork to the bank in March!

I’ve already reached out to the contractor and once we get a closing date I’m confirming the condo with my boss. I’m ready to start packing…

  8. Best of luck Steve!

Michelle mentioned this job opportunity when she was at the velodrome a few weeks ago.

  9. Barb says:

well – only sort of sarcastic – since you said it was with the underwriter last sunday, I thought it might be awhile, especially with the govt shutdown that probably had nothing to do with it, but might give someone an excuse to not work…..

  10. Steve says:

Thanks all for the good thoughts… I’m not worried.

On the Michelle and Drew front, it would seem to me that Drew could find similar work here, but I think they are just ready for a change. It may be a little closer to Michelles’ folks and it will be way closer to Drews’.

  11. Stacy says:

Thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way, Steve!

  12. Barb says:

I just saw on FB that they may postpone the Grant Park CX race if it rains, they can’t rip up the park’s grass. (someone would be in way too much trouble if they do that).

I think Drew saw the job listing, thought it would be interesting & went for it. I’m pretty sure it was his first job intereview in over 20 years. Or, maybe he just wanted deep down to hang with Head Eunuch more….. LOL.

  13. Steve says:

That’s what I was thinking as well, Barb. While it’s nice to be wanted and in demand, you don’t necessarily need to go across the country to find a new job.

And to move across the country just to drink beer with Eunuch? No.
