On Hold

Today’s Daily Challenge
Stand and lean forward, form a Y with your arms, then bend them into an L shape. Repeat four times.

The muscles in the backs of your arms, called the triceps, are just as important as your biceps, the muscles in the front of your arms. Strong triceps prevent injury in your arms and power you through the day: when you’re picking something up, pushing open a heavy door, or pushing yourself out of a chair.

Surprise, it’s Third Wednesday!
After getting my hair cut across the street I wandered into George’s to meet up with the Third Wednesday celebrators. I MC and Pigless along with TW regulars such as ITP-Reader Steve, Boner, Highdicker, Just Licks Dix, and Kitty Kitty Gang Bang.

Even though I arrived near Steve’s bewitching hour I had a good time chatting up the regulars before heading home.

Going to work on resurrecting this starting today.

MasterChef? More Like Master.
I am trying to get into watching MasterChef, but I am not sure that I am going to be able to ride out this series this time either. I understand that reality tv isn’t really real, but this is just too implausible for me to believe.

In the past two weeks the “home chefs” have been required to bake a blueberry pie and make a box of a dozen donuts as their elimination tasks. Really? Is this MasterChef or MasterBaker. And seriously, how can this many “home chefs” know how to make these from scratch?

Cutting It Short
Just like my hair I’m cutting today’s post short. It’s now nearly 11:00am and I’ve much to do.

I picked up the air nailer from the repair shop- should have purchased a palm nailer like Allan’s as the repair cost $65 and the new nailer would have been $85.

Even though I neglected to send out the reminder, there was a fair crowd at 3rd Wednesday. The potential for rain kept me close to the start, but it never really did anything more than spit. But there was plenty of hot and steamy, that’s for sure. I was happy to be done and enjoy some quality beer drinking time.

Boner let me know of an upcoming hash that might be interesting- he, Doggy Style and Bean will be the hares on August 9th- they have never hared together and they have a combined total of over 3000 hashes. Thought it would be something a little more laid back- more like a Cheddarhead. He said he was searching for a theme and I suggested “Get a Life!!”.

    Get a Life….. that’s an awesome theme!

  3. Martha says:

Did I ever tell you guys about the 36 hours I spent in a van with Doggie, Boner and High Dicker? I did? Was I still crying??

Well its offical, my neigbor is a wackadoddle and things may be a little uncomfortable on Knott Street over the next few days or weeks…I’ve heard he’s going to start driving a truck (long haul) so maybe he wont be around much.

Did anyone see the new Amazon Fire Phone? They have it available for preorder and it includes a year of Amazon Prime free. I broke down a couple of weeks ago and bought a new Kindle Fire HDX, I really like it. I big improvent on the original Fire. I’ve been ‘considering’ a real phone for sometime now…this might just do it for me.

  4. Barb says:

Martha – which neighbor? the one that on the side we took the tree down?
I remember you crying telling that “fun” story.

I saw the commericials for that phone, it does look kind of cool.

  5. Steve says:

Martha, I just laughed out loud. And what about the neighbor? I’d like to see him bring his truck to your street- that would be fun.

Since I just traded for the Samsung 4S (or is it S4) there is no new phone in my future for 2 years. Glad I like this one.

  6. That phone runs the wrong operating system. 🙂

Martha, I should have given you my original Kindle Fire. At least then it would get some use.

I just returned from lunch — $3 Cafe. Perhaps the last time I ate at a $3 Cafe was when they were still (huge) in Buckhead. I had wings. They were delicious. I tries chatting up the waitress. She was not having any of what I was selling.

  7. Martha says:

Barb, that’s the guy. And Steve, I don’t doubt he’ll try if for no other reason than ‘the goverment has no business telling me what I can do’…

If I can get my old Fire fixed, I’m going to give it to Jerry. I think all that is wrong is the micro USB charging bit has come undone (it appears to be a common problem with the first generation Fire)…

  8. Barb says:

so, my crazy sister in law in Spain, did a 10.4km uphill time trial (and, she doesn’t really ride anymore). And, so not shocking, she won. She also wore her Wheelhopper Will Ride For Beer jersey.
Everyone is getting a kick out of the jersey.
I hate her, she is such a great athlete.
