Busy, Busy, Busy

Sorry for the silence, but driving and blogging don’t mix well. I will be making the return trip today, and although I will be incredibly busy this week will catch you up on all of my shenanigans starting tomorrow.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga] in Fla

Shenanigans? On St. Patricks Day? I get it…

I’m tired of moving. Saturday, with the help of Debbie’s friends Kieth and Katie, we unloaded the “lost” pod. Now we just have the one Barb and Allan help load. This one will be around for a little while, as we have until April 13 to get it returned.

The dogs have mostly adapted, although for the moment, we can’t really let them out on their own. At one point over the last week, I opened the door in the morning to let them out and they all bolted like they were on fire. Clearly they hear something we cannot. When I walked out this morning, they all wanted to join me, but I kept them in. Inside the house, you couldn’t hear the neighbors dog barking- maybe they could.

Yesterday, we took the afternoon off and went to the closing foxhunt of the season. Mostly a lot of riding around in a 4 wheeler, but still fun. The exciting part of the day was Debbie “getting her colors”. This is an earned status in the hunt- participation, volunteering, etc. I was very happy for her!

Only 25 minutes to the bus this morning via I-85. 20 minutes from the old house.

The weekend ended up being pretty busy for us – Saturday decided to do the Green Dress / Pi hash – it was entertaining as most dress hashes can be.
Saturday evening went to Sani’s house for a small farewell party for Kevin, he is moving to Colorado next weekend. Got a new job opportunity & he decided it was time for a change (and more skiing)

Sunday drove WAY out to Rockmart to ride the Silver Comet trail with Sarah, Sal, JoAnna & Mike, and their friends Lynn & Joe, but Joe is really one of our old friends, B*tch In Heat, from hashing in the 90s. The restaurant Frankie’s that was very nice to cyclists is closing 3/28, so we thought we’d eat one last meal there. It was packed, but we got the food to go & ate outside at a picnic table, it was such a gorgeous day. I’m so out of shape, we rode the only hilly section of the SCT to Cedartown. 26 miles was plenty.

Wow. I knew Kevin had gone to Colorado around Thanksgiving and had an interview but I didn’t think he’d go through with it. good for him.

Bitch in Heat, there’s a hash name I have not heard much of since I first started hashing.

Oh, I am still at my mom’s. I will eat lunch with her and then hit the road.
