My Style Has Been Cramped

Not really, but my legs were this morning. I woke in pain this morning as my left calf was cramping severely. This has happened before, but not for some time. Dry scalp and now this? Geez…

German’s Back
(Der Rücken is what you call your back in Germany)
I returned to German class last night fo the beginning of A1.4, the final course in the “A” series. Unlike the fifteen students in A1.3, there are only six of us signed up for this course in part due to the addition of a Saturday session.

Even with three weeks of self-study I was rusty, especially when I attempted to speak. This should be a turning point in my learning as there seems to be far more German and less English spoken by the teacher. Though reticent I am I’m getting excited.

In Shop
The M6 is getting its first oil change and tire rotation today. Having learned to have a “If it ain’t broken don’t fix it” (and in some cases don’t fix it even if it is broken) I am somewhat nervous about “fixing” a car that was working well.

I am writing this short post from Hennessy Mazda in Jonesboro, not looking forward to fighting traffic to Perimeter Mall later on this rainy Wednesday. I chose to bring the car back to the dealership becau they offered me a 1¢ oil change (with. $25 tire rotation) and the promise of a $50 gift card. I also wanted to inquire about getting some touch-up paint to cover up the small paint chips I have discovered while performing car washes. I doubt that I will return to the dealer once they no longer offer me freebies since the man I spoke with this morning told me that my coupon was saving me $70 today. $70 for an oil change? Yikes!

Late Night Coding
I will be getting into the office “late” today and with another build of software promised tonight it appears that I will be spending some quality time at the office late tonight. It’s my job, it’s what I need to do.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

yep – oil changes are crazy now on new cars, but you get 7500 miles, so really its about the same. My 2 years free are up, so I’ll have to pay the next time I need an oil change.

Not that any of you readers were watching, but the series finale of Justified was last night. I was sad, we loved that show.
I’d seriously consider buying the series DVD collection someday.
And I never buy TV shows or movies.

For those of you who know Sally Brooking, and maybe have seen slightly cryptic messages asking for prayers and her getting on a plane yesterday- I guess it must have been her… (younger sister, maybe?) who lost her 18 month old twins in a terrible accident in Yuma. From the news reports, she tried to get away from a bee and the stroller rolled into the fairly fast moving canal. I can’t even imagine…

Paulie, they should give you the touch-up paint. If not, tell them a friend of yours who bought from Ford had them mail some to her without even asking! (It’s true….just showed up in the mail one day.) 🙂

  4. That’s absolutely horrible, Steve. My thoughts to our friend Sal and her family.

I had to order the paint Stacy. I will use this tactic when I go to pick it up. If it works it’ll save me $12.

it was Sal’s niece, but I’m thinking that niece’s mom is the one that died not too long ago from cancer. I just can’t even imagine that poor mother, I’d need to be commited. it jsut makes me so sad to think of anyone having to go thru this.

and- if you are feeling generous – I’m sure the money will be going toward many important things.

Yeah.. I can’t wrap my head around something so tragic- amd tragic doesn’t even cover it.

Sorry to bring the blog down…

On a happier note- $1900 to repair the bumper on the truck!! I hope USAA doesn’t drop us.
