No Riding Makes For A Boring Night

Giving my feet a rest last night was a good move. With any luck my feet (as well as other body parts still being affected by cycling) will be ready for action tomorrow.

With a night “off” I was able to play around with my new Apple Watch, do some German homework, make a bachelor’s dinner of boxed stuffing and microwaveable Indian food, and talk to my mother on the phone, all before passing out a little after midnight.

Believe it or not I still didn’t get everything accomplished that I was hoping to get done.

Tonight’s A German Night
Week 8 of German A1.2 occurs tonight, a mere two more classes follow this one.

I have been spending a lot of my free time typing in German words and their English translation into a file format that my future flash card (Apple Watch) app will read.

Last week I mentioned receiving the textbook that I will be using for the German A2.1 class that will start up in July, for which I will register tonight. When I’ve successfully transcribed all of the words from the textbook that I have been using since last June I will start working on the words present in the new textbook. While I could have found a word list to download online, and have a larger database quickly, it’s doing me good to have to read and type in the German and English words manually.

Okay, time to pay attention to my 8:00am meeting.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

We were having a dinner dilemma last night, and with the possible rain, didn’t really want to ride. So, we decided to walk to the closest Mexican restaurant – about 2.25 miles away. We took an umbrella along to keep the rain away, which almost worked, it just rained a little as we were almost home.

We need to get to the new Avengers movie, so we have watched the original one & Captain America over the past few days so I can remember what is going on.

We have one strand of fence up on part of the pasture and I’m sure Debbie will be knocking out the others today. Hopefully when I get home, the weather will cooperate and I can hook up the juice!!

Apparently, the storm that came through Sunday evening was a bit stronger than we realized. While there was debris on the driveway and road, the gentleman at the corner, who just installed a new fence, had a large pine tree laying across it when he woke up. Wouldn’t that piss you off?

I know I’ve turned in my man-card, but just in case you are interested, “So You Think You Can Dance” started last night. Unlike Dancing with the Stars, these people really have talent and are amazing to watch.

I suppose CNN is turning 35 this year? They put up a blooper reel that is pretty funny.

I wish I rode last night. Travis had his first swim meet, it was insane! There had to be 75 kids there, half of them under 10 years old. Laura’s job was to round up the 7 and 8 year old boys and get them in line for their heats, it was like herding cats. We showed up just after 4 and didn’t get home until almost 10. We were all worn out. This was a make up meet too, so we get to do it again on Thursday (well, Laura does as I am rambling :-)).
The meet was sort of fun though, lots of proud kids and parents all over. That was really cool. Travis was chosen for the IM so 4 laps in the pool using 4 different strokes. He did the whole thing without stopping, super proud of him. He got about a 15 minute rest then had to do a 1 lap breast stroke then 5 minutes later did a leg of the freestyle relay. He was a tired kid.

    I love your priorities Bob……..
Finally, a way to tire Travis out.
