Will I Ride Again Tomorrow?

It appears as if this rain is finally moving out, and with it a temporary warm front is moving in. So, if all goes to plan I will get on my bicycle tomorrow for the first time in two weeks. Why talk about tomorrow today? Because I have little else to discuss.

I worked until about 6:30pm last night and stopped for a fattening dinner of carnitas at a Mexican restaurant en route home. Upon arriving home I attempted to do German homework in preparation for tonight’s class. I’m nervous because I feel so ill-prepared. After doing my German homework I was also supposed to work for work, but passed out well before any of that could be done.

My biggest disappointment of yesterday was realizing that the electrician’s company never called to schedule the service. If I don’t hear from them soon I will be initiating the contact from my side.

My other non-work-related task to perform today is to get to the post office so that I can mail my expedited request to get my passport renewed. I was going to shoot for the standard renewal time but was told that I might be required to travel for work soon, so I should expedite. Wheeee!

Have a great day friends.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

International travel for work?? Woo Hoo! And tell them you only fly business class or better.

I failed to mention yesterday that when I got around to cutting the grass late Sunday, during a break in the monsoon, the mower has its front wheels pointing in different directions- at least 10-15 degrees. I jacked the mower up last night but there does not appear to be any adjustment- only replacement. I did see a Youtube video that showed a guy “straightening” out a piece- and if I can figure out which piece is bent, I might try that. Crooked or not, the grass in EP has to be cut today.

Debbie got some of the channel to hold the wall boards for the stalls attached. We bought some temporary lighting to hang before we’re able to get the electricians to permanently run wiring for the lights and outlets. We might have horses under cover very soon!!

  2. I really don’t think that the travel will occur. Now I have to get the company to agree to pick up the costs associated with expediting the request especially since they were the ones who suggested it.

is the company paying for hte whole passport, or just the cost of expediting?

We have gotten very sluggish with all this rain.
Allan made a meatloaf for dinner last night & we just watched some TV.
So far I’m underwhelmed by both the new shows Blindspot & Limitless.
    Anyone watched either of them?

  4. Steve says:

Neither. We watched the season opener of “Madame Secretary” as well as “Scandal”. Not sure Scandal hasn’t jumped the shark for storylines…

  5. I’m going to inquire to see what they will pay, hopefully it will be for the entire renewal. If they do I can put that $110 toward electrical mast repair instead — that is if the company ever schedules me.

Riding? What is that? It seems like it has been forever since I have been on a bike. This weather is killing me!

Tomorrow is national bike/walk to work/school day. My neighborhood seems to be coming out in droves to walk or bike with the kids to school in the morning. Should be fun.

I also just got off the phone with my German team planning our trip to Stuttgart and Amsterdam next month. I am getting really excited about this trip!

Auch du Lieber! I took the IC (the very fast train) to Stuttgart once upon a time.

I managed a half hour on my trainer last night, but it wasn’t a whole lot of fun.
