Quick Post While I Have The Power

Because at some point this morning I will be powerless, while the electricians repair the main electrical mast on my house.

Not What I Expected
I managed to wind my way around most of the shitty traffic last night making it to the westside by 7pm. Geebus knows that I didn’t need dinner, but I was in the neighborhood and I decided to finally try the popup Oddbird which takes over West Egg Cafe on Wednesday-Saturday nights. I was going to put off my visit until next week when I return to Terminal West, but now I am glad I didn’t since I just read that Oddbird’s run at West Egg will come to an end on Saturday.

My journey to Terminal West last night was to see Ben Sollee perform. What I didn’t expect was to see/hear a wonderful night of music in which Sollee and the band Mother Falcon collaborated. Some songs consisted of the entire group, others consisted of a few select members.

Hoping For What I Expect
I’m in the “window” for the electrician to arrive. I am hoping that this repair occurs with no complications. I’m trying to be optimistic.

If all goes to plan I will be joining folks for trivia tonight.

And my final tricks for the evening will be putting in an hour’s worth of German studying, and packing for my road trip to Black Mountain, North Carolina tomorrow. That’s right, it’s already Fall LEAF weekend again. Where does the time go…

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

  1. Electricians are here.

Killing time between meetings by starting to research multi-day bicycle tours in Vermont that are being done next summer. I’m realizing that it’s time to start checking off bucket list shit while I am still physically capable.

  2. Stacy says:

Ooooh please join the trivia folks tonight! Aron’s going to be a little late since he’s doing the brewery show right before…. and I need help! 🙂 Also, there may or may not be a surprise visit from ITP-Reader Terri. (Er, not-so-surprise even)

And way cool the electricians are already there! If it were me, they’d be showing up in the last hour of the window.

You’re picking a lovely weekend to head up to N.C….the fall colors should be gorgeous (please take pictures). I’m boppin’ off to Helen for a day myself, but I don’t think the leaves are quite as vivid there yet.

Fingers crossed, things seem to be going well.

I will be at trivia! I should be there on time. 🙂

  4. Electrical work is complete and charged to a credit card.

Like the dedicated employee I pretend to be I am now at the office, taking only one liberty to stop at Joe’s Coffee in East Atlanta to pick up a cup of java to go.

Have found many Vermont bike tours, will spend a few weeks looking at when the tours in which I want to participate are offered.

Also, I used the time without power to pack most of my camping gear into the M6. GO ME!

Look at you go being efficient and all.

We had a good day on the field setting up today. The new front entrance tent will work out for everyone it appears. That has been our main goal for this year -this is a big change for everyone to adjust to.

My plan brother Frank has arrived went to dinner with him tonight. The Mexican place there my clan brother Frank has arrived went to dinner with him tonight beautiful down. The Mexican place there was only so so.

We wrap it all up tomorrow only hopefully putting out fires and a few last details. Debbie comes up and we go enjoy some of the fruits of our labor tomorrow.

Have a great time at leaf. Our best to the Raleigh royalty.
