Again With The Too Busy

Even waking up an hour “earlier” thanks to the switch to Standard Time and thus getting into the office an hour earlier I am fucking swamped. In addition to the overwhelming amount of work I normally undertake I am now trying to bring three Ukrainian developers up to speed and will be working with an Indian developer who arrives today for a week in our office.

El Niño is not my friend either, as it appears that this weekend’s (final?) FDR State Park campout will be rather damp. Oh well, it’s not like I have time to worry about that…

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

It’s funny how bringing in people to help can be so stressful. I am trying to bring my team up to speed as I take on more of a leadership role and less in the day to day but they are asking so many questions I can’t get anything done at all. It’s crazy!

Leaving for Stuttgart and Amsterdam on Saturday, looking forward to this trip. Getting some serious nerd time at the black hat security conference then get 3 days on my own to explore. Should be fun!

  2. Here’s a useful phrase while you are in Stuttgart:
“Zwei Bier bitte. Mein Kollege zahlt.”

    It translates to:
“Two beers please. My colleague is paying.”

I will definitely use that phrase 🙂

Another boring evening at our house – Allan finished up the Instructor 2 class with a test & presentation yesterday, so we “celebrated” with chili dogs, not Skyline, using regular chili. It wasn’t the same.

Watched Monday Night Football, gave up & went to sleep when it went into overtime. I can’t imagine playing football in pouring down rain – how miserable.

  5. Oh the game was in Charlotte? Interesting… Being a cord cutter the only way that I could have watched last night was to stream through my DISH receiver at work. I wasn’t that interested.

My new AppleTV arrived yesterday, I was even too busy to set it up last night.

With a few seconds to breathe I can mention that I get to sit in a meeting about employee benefits. Don’t be envious of me now…

Oh boy.. benefits meetings are all the rage!!

Barb, what’s the point of chili dogs and not Skyline. I don’t know who you are anymore.

This weekends’ forecast doesn’t look too good. I have faith that you’ll have fun no matter what.

We just did chores last night and made shrimp tacos. Tonight, I said I would make schnitzel, but I might save that for tomorrow, after Debbie has her surgery and I’d be cooking anyway.

well Steve – we made chili Sunday for dinner & I didn’t want it for leftovers, just as chili. So, we did chili dogs. Plus, I like my Skyline over noodles.

I skipped my benefits meeting, it was a webex & I was way too busy for that. Our stuff isn’t changing much (except maybe the price) so I didn’t care.
