One Expensively Great Dinner

I spent more on dinner for two than I ever had before. I won’t tell you how much, but I will give you a quick overview of what ITP-Reader Betsy and I had last night for dinner.

– Wine : a completely overpriced bottle of wine; it was a good Tempranillo
– Finger sandwiches with pickled vegetables
– Kale salad
– Cornbread
– Entrees : fried chicken, braised short rib
– Sides : collards, sweet potato, turnips, grits, jambalaya
– Coffee
– Desserts : Lemon icebox pie, apple something-or-other with vanilla ice cream

I’m still full.

That’s it for today gang! Work is breathing down my neck again. Perhaps I’ll see some of you around the trivia table tonight.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

Sounds like a good dinner – and I can just imagine how much it cost. I have heard………..

Speaking of restaurants – I read Sobban is closing. Kind of bummed I never made it there. (its the female chef’s place of the 2 people from Heirloom BBQ)

Last night I went over to Sani’s for wine wednesday. Traffic was remarkably not bad on the top end 285, I got there in about 40 minutes. Didn’t even slow down until spaghetti junction. It is always fun hanging out with her & Dr. Crotch Rot & Wisecracker. I think I talked Robin & Sani both into Colorado Invihash. We will see………..

  2. Oh yeah, I forgot to add the kale salad to the list.

Traffic was really good last night, but I have no idea why.

I never made it to Sobban. Every time I passed it I thought about eating there, but never did.

Speaking of invihash, I need to call the hotel today since I never received confirmation for the reservation I placed.

I need to call today for the hotel. I’m going to get 2 bed now, so Robin better really sign up…….

You’ll see ME around the trivia table! 🙂 Reminder to ITP Readers: change of venue tonight to Whitehall Tavern in lower Buckhead.

And it’s funny, because SLUT is also tonight….and starting in your neighborhood again. Sheesh! How many hashes are there in EAV anyway?

Speaking of hash — SHAMELESS PLUG! If you’re here for the holidays, come out and do the trail I’m laying for Pinelake on 12/26. I can promise you that you will do something on trail that you have never done at any hash before. 😀

In “Customer Service” class all day, so only just now getting my blog on.

That meal does sound good. I would be scared to guess what it cost.

12/26 (Boxing Day) is one of the high holy days at the fox hunt, so I’m sure I know where I’ll be. And for something different this weekend, I’m going with Debbie to the hunt in Dooly County (south of Macon) and taking my CX bike- should be… interesting.

Barb, the picture of the roof looks great. How does he plan on handling the drainage? Looks like the roof slopes down to the uphill side of the yard.

  6. Stacy says:

But but but you can come fox-hunt ME that day! 🙂

  7. Barb says:

gutters would be my guess – off to the sides to hit the gravel.
    but – I don’t know. I don’t ask.

Made the hotel in CO reservation – for Thursday night thru Sundy night – not sure when we are flying, we may just fly out early Friday morning.

  8. Still need to call the lodge… Never mind, I just saw my confirmation email. I have to remember when I check out that they included a 15% gratuity.

  9. steve says:

The hotel added a tip? And Stacy, I laughed out loud.

  10. Stacy says:

Hee hee. Then my job here is done. 😀
