Boring Days

Because I went into work late yesterday, as I will again today, I returned home late last night, after 8:00pm. In an effort to save a little money and calories I ate dinner at the office before returning home. My dinner consisted of an cashew butter sandwich (using the bread I baked on Sunday), a small bag of Sun Chips, and a can of pink lemonade.

Upon getting home I did a few quick chores and then got into bed to watch some videos. I fell asleep within an hour or so.

Wheee!

Though I don’t think that my knee is 100% (yet), I am bringing my bicycle tonight to go for my first road ride in months, and my first attempt at any riding in weeks. Fingers crossed that my knee holds up, yes I have lowered the seat again, because I have a massive amount of riding planned for the next six months.

I Wonder If I Need A Dermatologist
My scalp has been super-dry recently. The dryness only exists within my hairline, but the flakes are noticeable on days that I wear black shirt, like today…

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve tried a few different shampoo and conditioners, none of which have been successful.

Perhaps it’s time to seek out a dermatologist? Do you have one that you would recommend?

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

Cashew butter sandwich sounds intriguing: is it very much like a peanut butter sandwich, or does it taste significantly different?

As for your scalp….are you applying sunscreen there? The super dry may be from sun exposure? I remember the day of the festival you stopping often to reapply, but scalps are tricky because typical sunscreen makes your hair all greasy. There are great mineral powder ones out there though that work really well.

In non-related to anything news, today is Jersey Mike’s day of charity and a good day to eat there for lunch: 100% of their sales are going to Bert’s Big Adventure in the Atlanta area (and other charities in other cities).

Allan got a lot of the electrial & water line buried – the backyard is almost back to the way it was – and the gate can be closed again (so Zeke-Norman can run the yard next time he visits)

I went to yoga and then Allan met me to Rocco’s for some wings (they are on special on Tuesdays as is the High Life). He was quite happy with the amount of work the accomplished. The beers were served in a Coors Light promo glass commemorating Turner Field’s final year – I posted a pic on the FB & people were commenting that they would like one. I’m predicting there will be lots & lots of those at bars this year.

The roofing materials were delivered – anyone want come & help & to learn how to install a metal roof?

As for the dry scalp, I use a prescription shampoo called Clobex occasionally. I bet your regular doc could prescribe it. Nothing works over night. There’s also this oil that you can apply & sleep in (with a plastic shower cap) that really works well & fairly quick. Can’t remember the name of it – but you have to find a pharmacy that does compounding, as the regular places don’t do that.

and – I was planning to go to Jersey Mike’s to meet a friend for lunch – before I heard it was charity day. It was just meant to be.

A very late night/ early morning with roaming dogs (ours) means I took a half day of comp this morning. Debbie got up and let Zelda out and there was a jail break by Maggie and Izzie. I don’t know how long they were out, but when I drove to the end of the drive, they were like “hey Dad, what are you doing up?”. Damn dogs.

As I drove to the Dr. yesterday, driving back through downtown with the President was a challenge. Thank god for Marta on those days.

  5. Minor correction, it was almond butter and not cashew butter. I’ve eaten both, and the consistency is what is generally different when compared to peanut butter. Almond and Cashew butters seem to be runnier, and of course taste more like almonds and cashews than they do peanuts.

I’m not expecting overnight defeat of my scalp issue, but I would like to try and figure out how to get it back to whatever I considered to be normal was. Stacy, my first thought was that the condition was sunburn from the brunch festival, however it has persisted far too long to be that. 🙁
