Paging Captain Forgetful

Short one today because even though I was up early enough to leave the house by 6:15am, I am behind schedule. I need to make this quick so that I can get my morning studying done.

Dangen!
I must have been in a real hurry yesterday morning.

On my drive into work my iPhone buzzed, alerting me that I was outside my geofence boundary and had not engaged the security system at the ITP Estate. Whoops! At the next traffic light I rectified this.

One thing I didn’t realize, and could not rectify remotely, was that I left my bedroom ceiling fan on when I left the house yesterday. In the grand scheme of things it wasn’t a big deal, I just don’t like wasting electricity.

This morning my new double-check list was in effect.

Roughriders

One of my favorite paintings in the Booth Western Art Museum. My photo barely does it justice.

If you want an idea about the size of this painting check out ITP-Reader John’s (HamWithCam) shot by following this link รขโ‚ฌโ€œ> Sizing Up The Competiton

Take a good look at the flat ass on the man standing in front of the painting, you may recognize it. LOL.

A Funny At Work
The other day the CEO of “XYZ Corp” sent out an update to the masses. In this email he talked about using our products and he wrote “and I think to myself, ‘Why doesn’t it do X, Y, or Z?'”.

It does, it says so right there in our fake company name! ๐Ÿ˜‰

A Funny Thing At Home
When I arrived home, and then turned off the ceiling fan, I noticed that I had a message on my answering machine. Yes, I still have one because I have not yet canceled my landline. Anyway, the message was a computerized voice warning me that my Microsoft Windows update license key had expired and it was very important that i call the number provided so that it could be re-activated.

I haven’t used Windows since 2005, so even if I didn’t know that this was a complete scam I’d be okay with my Windows license expiring. ๐Ÿ™‚

Today’s goal? Reduced calorie intake. ITP-Reader Steve, this doesn’t mean I want to cancel lunch however. Any ideas where you would like to eat?

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

I hate burning electricity unnecessarily- just something I grew up with and have carried on with, sometimes much to Debbie’s dismay.

I finally exercised last night, after almost 3 weeks off. My ankle still isn’t quite right, but Debbie had me jog Mac up the path to the barn and it didn’t feel half bad, so I may try some running. Last night was a half hour on the trainer. I was going to go out, but the road was a quagmire.

I finally watched Stage 2 from last week and the horrific crash by Mr. Skijens. Amazing he could even hold his line after the crash. Autopilot kicks in, I’m sure. As far as decisions by officials regarding ability to continue after such a crash, it won’t be an easy decision- sure, his was pretty clear, but what about marginal cases? Keeping them from continuing because you “think” they hit their head? Or decide wrong and he later crashes again or takes out someone else? Some tough choices ahead.

Weather should be fair. Your favorite taco place, or somewhere I’ve never been, Ri Ra. What time?

Let’s meet at Ri Ra. Does noon work for you?

    • Stacy says:

Oooh Ri Ra is yummy! They make great Bloody Marys too. Though I imagine that’s not what you’re going for. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I definitely need to get up to the Booth museum. I’m not a big “western” kind of girl so it never really appealed to me, but now I’m rather kind of interested.

Now for something completely off-topic. I’ve been meaning to ask you about this for a while, Paulie! Is there a setting on your blog so when you link to somewhere else that it will pop up in a new tab instead of redirecting from yours? I know some websites do that; others don’t. Was always curious if that’s something you can change. I like following your links, but I’d love it if they’d just pop up in their own tab so I don’t have to stop reading ITP and they can be sitting there waiting for me when I’m done. ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyone else still watching Survivor? It’s the finale tonight and the extent of my evening plans equals watching it with a glass of wine.

      • I need to add something to the HTML link in order to have that happen. It’s not a big deal, in fact I thought I was doing that by default but I am not. Will start tomorrow.

I was going to watch this season of Survivor but forgot. I am hooked on The Amazing Race still. This week they get down to the final three.

        • Stacy says:

Oh don’t change it just for me. Oh wait, YES! Change your blog settings JUST FOR ME! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Survivor was very good this season – lots of blind sides and moments where you would be: damn, I wish they would be brave enough to make this move…. and then they did!

I’m watching The Amazing Race too. Kinda bummed for Team Fun. I really liked them! Their attitude was stellar. I’m trying to remember who all is left now and who I want to win. I just know there are some pretty annoying people left.

          • I was bummed about Team Fun too.

            Teams Remaining:
“Opposites Not Attracting” (Brooke and Scott)
            “The Boys”
            “Mom and Dad”
“Lo Lo” (who I think are sleeping together during the race)
