Boring Night, Busy Day

I really have nothing about which to blog today. I need to shake things up, and hopefully will have fun things to discuss tomorrow.

At least today I brought my workout bag in with me, so I will steal an hour of my day to get some exercise.

Here’s a photo I took yesterday sitting outside the Starbucks at Colony Square.

Colony Square
If you’d didn’t know that on the other side of that wall is Peachtree Street near the intersection of 14th Street you’d mistakenly believe that I was in a tranquil environment when I took this photo. Not pictured are the twelve people assembled near me to place Pokémon Go.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

And near “Our Lady of the Painful Member”. Was there a “Peachtree Eve” hash this year?

I took my new saddle “and the rest of the bike” out for a spin last night. I can see where there will have to be some break in period, but all in all I’m not displeased. Any saddle will have an adjustment period, though this may be longer than most. When we finally “marry”, I think the comfort will be superior.

Speaking of bikes- there won’t be a EAV Criterium this year, but Grant Park is still happening, and a new race in Hapeville on Friday the 18th. Watch this space- I asked to be on the crew.

No word from the transmission hospital. I’ll ping them around lunch and see what’s what.

    • Given that I was in Germany this July 4th the thought of Painful Member and any Peachtree Pub Crawl never entered my mind.

I went looking for the date of this year’s EAV Criterium and sadly came to the conclusion that there would be none when I never found an updated website and saw that Grant Park was moved to Saturday. Can’t say that I am surprised, but I am certainly disappointed. Even if it were to occur this year I probably would have missed it however, because I will be in Raleigh the weekend on which it would be scheduled.

Boring evening of yard work for us, all this damn rain just makes the grass grow way too fast.
Started watching Ozark on Netflix – about a guy that has to launder a bunch of money in the Ozarks to appease a drug kingpin…….. 2 episodes in, its ok so far. Jason Bateman is the star, I like him, so we will see.

Allan gets to be a Fire Marshall at Chastain tonight – for a concert by the people on the TV show Nashville. He has never watched the show (of course) and I’m just a little jealous. I think it will be a good concert. If I get a wild hair, and can figure out if I can buy tickets at the box office at about 8pm, I may go with a friend. This is how he will make up for all the lost income from his 2nd job, they get paid pretty well for the Fire Marshall gigs. I think he is working a long one Saturday afternoon into night at the Avengers filming. Its a 1099 thing though, so we will have to start keeping track of how much money he makes for taxes.

Debbie watches Nashville- if I’m in the room, I guess I see it on. The music is pretty good, so it should be a good show. As long as no one group goes over $600, the IRS doesn’t care (?). After that, it gets reported. I should have a doozey from California.

Late word from the transmission shop- dirty connectors!! And they think they might have a fix for the other code from a misfiring plug! All part of 2 hours of diagnostics. Life is good.

  4. Just remembered, I will be available to have a beverage or two tomorrow night at Ri Ra if anyone is interested.

    • Steve says:

      I think that’s sounds good!

    • Barb says:

not sure if we can make it- I am going to the concert tonight, got a deal on tickets thru a friend who gets veteran tickets.
THEN – Friday night we have “learn to curl” class, so we may need to stay home tomorrow (I’m sure we won’t get enough sleep tonight)
I’ll let you know for sure tomorrow.

  5. For the record it’s hot outside again.

Typically nothing is withheld from 1099 income.
Plan accordingly to prevent any April 2018 surprise. (Ugh!)

Disclaimer: I am not an accountant. (But I did work for Arthur Andersen.)

Hey, somebody organize another “OK Cafe” lunch deal.
    I’m just saying…

Aren’t you somebody? I’d be in for early next week.

  8. HamWithCam says:

BTW: I could swing by, get Steve/Paulie (and one more) then –> OK Cafe, depending.
