Round And Round

I’m typing this morning inside Midtown Wash, once again aggravated with the tightness of my pants, and hoping that I can get back into the swing of doing work again. At least I know that I will have clean clothes in ninety minutes, so I’ve got that going for me.

Body Moving
Given my current mindset regarding my weight I am trying to eat less and move more. After eating lunch yesterday I went on an hour-long walk down, and then back up Peachtree; it’s a start. Along my way I ran into a former coworker from “XYZ Corp”, and exchanged pleasantries.

Finding Something You've Never Seen
On my walk yesterday I noticed this house on Peachtree. For all of the times that I’ve driven up and down this section of Peachtree in the past twenty-two years I had never noticed it before. This house is located on Peachtree near Pine. According to my internet searching this is the Rufus Rose house, erected in 1901, and one of four Victorian houses remaining on Peachtree.

No German Class, Must Study German
As with the rest of my life I am struggling with trying to get myself to study German. Classes start again next Tuesday, but I have been out of the studying habit for nearly a month. I am making an attempt to carve out time to do one hundred flash cards a day (if I could mate this with walking that would be amazing) and reading about German grammar. It’s nearly time for me to start planning my next trip to Germany, I’d hate to be a worse speaker of their language than I was on my last trip.

Make it a great Tuesday.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

  1. Sweet! I just scored a dryer that had 32 minutes remaining, the amount of time I use to dry my towels and underwear.

  2. Just took a fifteen-minute walk to try and beat the heat – it didn’t work out very well, I am hot and a little sweaty. Also, I forgot to try and do flash cards while I walked.

    • Gmaps-pedometer tells me that my walk was 0.6 miles. Not much, but every little bit helps.

I am so out of practice exercising that I failed to start my GPS app to log yesterday’s walk. Gmaps-pedometer tells me that it was about 2.6 miles.

Sorry I missed checking in yesterday. I was at the Ben Hilton loading the rest of the tree and cleaning up some of the back forty. 3880 pounds of tree went to the dump!! 7 sections of trunk and 2 smaller pieces. I was worried the trailer wouldn’t be able to hold it, as the tires aren’t in the best shape, but they did well.

Off today as well to celebrate Debbie’s birthday!! Starting off quietly but will end with a bang tonight with dinner and a “show”, which is still a surprise.

    • Wow, that’s a ton of wood. Well, nearly two tons actually. It’s a shame that it couldn’t be put to use instead of going to the dump but I think most of the downed lumber, including the comparatively tiny amount I’ve accumulated, will end up there.

Steve – Chris Issak tickets? (hahahahaha)

  4. Please let me know if the photo is not loading for you. It’s only loaded about 50% of the time that I’ve come back to this page today.

  5. Steve, I meant to ask you, the Mexican place on 6th you referenced last week, is that called “Rreal Tacos”?

  6. Steve says:

    Yessir, that’s the place.

Those logs were big enough to go to the mill, but I was scared as it was getting them out delicately with my tractor. Someone else would have really screwed up the lawn.

boring evening for us – worked until almost 7pm -so just dinner, a little TV & sleep.
tonight we are attempting to go to spin, hopefully I can get out of here by 5:30. End of the month with retail accounts in the fall is always a blast.

  8. My weight/waistline is like gas prices, it goes up incredibly fast and lowers very slowly.
