Weekend was a blast, even if did end, while have dinner at Midway Pub, by watching another head scratching loss by the Atlanta United.

Prom was really fun and props to Glory Mole for being a much better hula hooper than I am.

Yesterday I scouted trail for what will be an “average” Moonlight hash, since this world is obsessed with putting up fences. 🤬 I will also be keeping an eye on the weather radar to see what else may be in store for tonight’s trail.

Since Allan took my suggestion of moving some bushes & making our grassy area bigger in the back yard, I think we are too tired & sore to go hashing this evening.
I’m still beat, and the sod gets delivered on Tuesday.
I could go back to sleep right now. I had to return the tiller this morning, luckily the guy there was very helpful, there is no way I could have gotten it out of the truck on my own.

Prom was fun, wish we could have stayed later, but we were tired, and knew Sunday has to be done by 3pm for Allan to get to the Atlanta United game for work. I wondered if I could hula hoop (I could back when I was a kid), but I wasn’t drunk enough to attempt it.

    • I apparently was drunk enough. 🙄 Also, I may have done some day drinking at Highlander before going to prom. Please don’t tell my disapproving doctor. 😂😂😂

Saw your pictures – daaaang that was a lot of yard work, Barb! But kudos on y’all. It’s going to look fabulous.

      • Barb says:

Allan broke 2 shovels trying to dig out those damn bushes – I’m going to Home Depot at lunch to see if they will warranty them.

        • Stacy says:

That’s the part that shocked me the most – had to look at the before/afters a couple times. Those bushes! Gone! And it looks like y’all planted some new baby ones?

        • Barb says:

the big bushes were transplanted along the fence line – (not in the pictures). The very small green plants (up near the deck) is actually lettuce!!! Its finally big enough to eat! And we have some tomatoes growing on the left side of the picture, in some raised beds.

      • When I heard what you were planning I knew you’d be in for a rough day of work. I applaud your intestinal fortitude to get shit done.

  2. Barb says:

oh yeah – and we had to go across the street to Mary & TJs to prepare an area in their backyard for sod. Their dirt is more clay, so it sucked trying to get it raked flat. (it was still damp from the rain over the last week). I told Mary it was tougher doing that small area than our big area.

Glad the Prom was fun… haven’t seen many pics yet, but Barb and Allan sure looked snazzy.

Friday evening, we went to dinner in Pine Mountain to a very good seafood place. (no, really). Not fine dining, just good food. Surprised to sit right down at 7PM, but we hit it just right.

Saturday, out to Chatt Hills to watch a friend ride over some big ass jumps! Did a bit of work to clear the electric fence of climbers and soon to be growth nearby- something that touches the fence (vine or plant) grounds it out and reduces the zap.

Sunday, woke with my head spinning. Rode out most of the day in the recliner. Saddle Sores (Katherine) met Debbie at Bear Creek and rode Murphy and I walked over and we went to dinner at Taco Mac. We were sitting outside until a torrential downpour let loose and drove us inside.

The head is still not quite stable, but livable.

    • Many hashers looked fine that evening. I am always surprised to see hashers in “real”clothes. My ensemble didn’t turn out as snazzy as I hoped, then again I “dress up” about once every two-three years, so there’s that.

You may not see too many phone shots from prom because the lights were turned off, making it harder to shoot. Money Shot, a pro photographer, too, many photos and there was a photo booth, but I have no idea where these will appear (I assume FB).

      • Barb says:

I’m sure Money Shot will let us know where the pictures are posted, you guess that on FB on the event page is probably right. But – she may send out a link as well. I’d like to see the photo booth pictures (as well as the posed ones).

Sani seemed disappointed in the evening, not really sure why.
I thought it was fun. She asked if I would help with next years event? I’m like……. sure??!!

        • You’ve been to more than I have, so I don’t know how it compared to others. I was pleased with the turnout, especially since Atlanta hashing in general has had fewer participants.

          • Steve says:

Saddle Sores didn’t even know it was happening. I guess PE wasn’t interested, so she didn’t get any info. She also reported there WILL be a Cheesy Yellow TdF Party. Date TBD.

          • Huh.

Hoping I am in the country for Cheesy TdF. I’ll be in Canada July 5-17, which I know is prime TdF time.

          • Barb says:

We should be here for a Cheesy Tour de France party this year. 1st time in a while.

          • Barb says:

and – the Prom was technically a Pine Lake event, I don’t know if it was even put onto the AH4 website (that forum has gotten was too difficult to deal with I’m told. I can’t ever get a password to work, so I never even think about posting)

          • Yeah, I can’t seem to log into the new Yap Yap Forum even though I created a new account a few months ago after the transition. I have given up trying to log in for the time being.

Over the weekend I ran across this 4 minute documentary from 1915 showing the evolution of the bicycle. Made me very happy to be born into modern times:

  5. Lab results are in. All systems “normal” but I have to watch my sugar intake (hmmm, makes beer drinking problematic), which give my parents’ health history I am not surprised.

    • Barb says:

Sugar intake – that’s hard, as it seems almost all foods have added sugar.
Need to make everything from scratch to really do it right.
(note to self – I should make my own salad dressing, but I haven’t)
