They have painted another brick house on my street entirely white. I am not a fan of this trend.

So maybe today Is the day that I start eating more sensibly… 🙄

  1. The jeans that I have put on today are perfect because they remind me that I still have a lot of work to do in my weight-loss program.

My plan to exercise last night was foiled when I got home and had to make a run the feed store. I could have motivated, but I thought yesterday was the super short stage that starts with a GC grid and goes straight up from the line.

I was about to start cutting the grass when Murphy decided he wanted to do a few laps of the house. Normally, he stays in the pasture with the gate open while Debbie loads in the other 2. Last night, he decided this was his chance for FREEDOM!! Fortunately, as soon as we got a bucket of sweet feed and shook it at him, he was quite amenable to going back in with everyone else.

A ride tonight is in the plan and off tomorrow before, very likely heading back to Nola on Friday. yippee.

My exercise yesterday was solely the walk to collect my left-behind sunglasses. Upon Googling the distance (and adding on a baby QT stop for a big Diet Coke), I’ve just realized it came to about 2 miles. Huh. Not much, but not nothing. I’ll take it! 🙂

Now that folks aren’t required to bring Relay Bikes back to ANY rack at all, they are seriously all over the place (along with scooters, BIRDs, etc.)in my ‘hood. There’s one just outside my driveway that has been there for nearly a week. It makes me sad. Like, all it wants is for someone to come play with him but no one even knows he’s there. *sigh* I break my own heart sometimes.

    • Steve says:

I guess after the battery runs out they can’t find it anymore. Now it’s sad.

      • Barb says:

since the Relay bikes aren’t locked up anywhere – can you not just ride it?

        • Stacy says:

It costs to ride it — don’t know exactly how it works though. I remember when they first came out it just seemed a little too expensive to me: a monthly fee + mileage or something? I didn’t dig too much into it because I hate monthly subscription things like that. Maybe it’s changed now though.

          • Barb says:

I just figured when you logged in to ride it – it unlocked it from the rack. Since I own more than 1 bike, I’ve really never thought about renting one, so I have no idea how it all works.
Some day I will ride a BIRD though, just to do it.

          • ITP Lurker says:

The Relay bikes are $3.50 to start per ride, plus a per mile fee. You can also sign up for a subscription. The yellow Ofo bikes (which are already getting pulled from Atlanta and other cities) are subscription only.

I’ve rented Relay bikes twice, for situations where I needed get between Midtown and Grant Park on a one-way basis. Those damn Relay bikes are so heavy that to me they’re unusable.

    • I guess that explains why there was only one at the Relay rack in Grant Park when I drove by last night.

      • Stacy says:

I’m hearing this from a lot of people. I think it’s a dumb decision to allow this. If you actually want to find a bike, how can you? (unless maybe there’s a GPS doohickey thing you can find them by app)

        • ITP Lurker says:

You can find them by app, the same way that you find a Bird scooter. It was a pain returning bikes to the dock, and I guess the arrival of the dockless Ofo bikes caused Relay to go dockless to compete. You could leave the Relay bikes anywhere before in exchange for an extra $1 fee.

Can’t remember if I complained about this here, but the last time I rented a Relay bike the app led me UNDERNEATH the bridge where the bikes were.

I guess some people don’t like the look of brick anymore? I really don’t understand the painting of brick either.
But – if you have added something on and can’t find matching brick, I guess that is the only option? I know we’d NEVER find matching brick for our house if we ever needed it.

    • Steve says:

That sounds like a business opportunity… used brick!

    • I doubt I could even find matching brick either, but the thought of the maintenance of painted brick makes me shudder.

      • Barb says:

I agree………. but after it starts to flake a little, then you pressure wash it & it is a distressed white brick – I guess.

    • ITP Lurker says:

Yeah, it’s stupid. My mid-century (f/k/a circa 1950 brick ranch) in Buckhead had painted brick when we bought it. Why take something that is maintenance free and make it require periodic maintenance?

  5. Barb says:

our exercise last night was a walk to the gas station to buy a lottery ticket – Its maybe 1.5 miles total. I don’t think we won…….. but I heard someone did – but didn’t hear where the ticket was sold.

  6. Just filled out electronic documents for my initial visit to this dermatologist tomorrow. Someone in the future will make a fortune off of streamlining this process.

  7. Why must I always be surrounded by coworkers who eat crunchy foods at their desks? 😡

    • ITP Lurker says:

At some point I hope you realize that the unresolved shit in your brain is exponentially amplifying everyday experiences and making them excruciating to you. It doesn’t have to be that way. But yes, I’ve known that feeling all too well.

    • Steve says:

      Headphones.

    • Barb says:

what about crunching bothers you? does it make you want them to share?

      • The sound bothers me, it grates on my nerves. I also don’t care for the rustling of the bags when people eat chips, pretzels etc.

I am also bothered by other people’s music because to me it sounds like mosquitoes.

News Flash: I am weird, I like silence.

  8. Barb says:

my co-workers are killing me with cold air today. I guess I need to get Allan to come in here on a weekend to see about blocking the vent (or vents) near me – I’m freezing & they are saying it is warm in here. I don’t understand them.

  9. We are having a “Build Your Own Ice Cream Sundae” social today.
