Really fun weekend, even if my bowling was terrible.

After yesterday’s Black Sheep I am paying for the extra wash and rinse cycles at the Waschsalon for my hashing clothes.

FWIW – Tin Drum’s to-go utensil package may be the only one that doesn’t have sal and pepper. This really stinks when you are going to eat a hard boiled egg at the Waschsalon. Just saying.

Good times seeing you all again! I hope I can roll another game like that in January 🙂
Bonnie it was nice to meet you.

Travis went back to school today, 5th grade. BMOC until next year when goes back to the bottom. He is also old enough to take the bus home and be alone until we get home, I’m a little nervous about what I will come home to.

I’ve seen the “Home Alone” movies and I’d been damn scared, too! 5th grade… the best 3 years of my life!

Good to see everyone Saturday. I know “It’s a poor craftsman who blames his tools”, but I swear if I could just find the right combination of ball weight and hole size (!!!), I could bowl more consistently. (let the comments fly).

Shoulda/coulda/woulda come to Black Sheep, but I was in the middle of the barn addition framing and wanted to get it finished. Hope y’all had a good time.

    • Trail was exhausting, but I knew it would be going in. There was food at the end, which was a nice thing.

Our macs at work have had a strange thing happen recently, they disconnect from Bluetooth (mouse/trackpad, keyboard) and won’t reconnect. I suspect it’s an error with a new policy IT secretly pushed to all machines, but I can’t prove it.

    • Bonnie says:

Oh, Steve, where are your priorities? 😉 Trail had the deepest and thickest muck I’ve ever slogged through (up to my knees sometimes) and it the first time I had to actually swim across a body of water (a creek?). But I loved it. It was also my first jubilee!

    What a weekend!
Saturday actually rode the road bikes – not far enough (only 20+ miles) but at elast we were out!
Saturday night bowling – Allan still can’t believe he was the high score on that first game, Bob decided he’s had enough and blew us all away on the 2nd game! Good times – we need to do that again sometime.

Black Sheep – I was really glad I decided to do an morning walk, so I could bimbo instead of do trail – Allan said that was the smartest decision I’d ever made.
THEN – The van’s AC had started acting up on the way to Newnan, and on the way home decided it just started making more noises & then wanted to die. So we stopped under an overpass, I called AAA. GE & Megan saw us & stopped, Allan decided Sal & I needed to go with them. Well – since I called AAA, they were calling my phone. We had to swap phones. I do NOT understand how the Samsung Android phone works, Allan got my iPhone. Word got out multiple people were texting/calling me – so Allan got to answer all my calls.
AAA Plus for the win- 100 miles towing is free – it was about 45 miles to the shop.

    • I’m ashamed to say that I probably drove right past you. I saw a vehicle under an overpass, but I still don’t register as that vehicle belonging to you.

      Sorry and good luck.

      • Barb says:

Just got a call from Allan, he heard from the shop already – its for sure a coolant system issue (guestimate about $500) – but they don’t know if its more yet.
This free van is getting expensive – but still less than 4-5 years of car payments.

and – Surly stopped too – offered to hang with Allan & drink beer (we had all the coolers) but Allan told him to go home.

I can only imagine the level of annoyed Alan was 🙂

AAA is great but I switched to Good Sam roadside assistance. They cover my camper as well. Plus I get camping related discounts at various places.

I’m struggling with the car payment option now, I REALLY want a new truck but it is so nice to not have a payment.

      • Fingers crossed the M6 is paid off in December. Of course the warranty has expired so things are going to start breaking left and right…

      • Barb says:

Allan was better than you’d have expected, but it could have been the exhaustion/dehyration from the trail.

We’ve debated on the Good Sam option, but haven’t pulled the trigger. Does Good Sam work for others’ cars like AAA does? I like to be able to use AAA if I’m with someone else that has a car issue.

  4. Okay this made me laugh. I received an email today with this photo in it. Read the was of the track.

    Go Bowling!

Couldn’t wait until after my dental checkup to eat lunch, so i just forged myself on Indian buffet. What’s weird is that I ate no meat. 😮 I don’t know who I am any more!!!

shooting at the NS rail yard on Marietta St.
hope no one has to go over that way.

AND – MINIVAN IS OFFICALLY DEAD.
Guess we will be car shopping sooner than later.
I doubt we will get another minivan, but really, it hasn’t been a bad car. Very versatile.

    • Wow, what was the cause of death? I didn’t realize how serious it was.

      • Barb says:

we didn’t either. The AC started not working right on the drive down, figured it just needed some AC work. Then – when it started not running right & died on 85N, still had no idea.
        Engine needs to be replaced.
That costs $5000+, so that isn’t happening.

    • bob says:

You should talk to the people you got the mini-van from and see if they will cover it under warranty 🙂

      • Barb says:

I already told Mary she sold us the van under false pretenses.

Steve – Mary decided she needed a new van last year sometime, so we basically got her old one gifted to us. Yes – 3rd car, but really, the Tundra is the extra car, its too big & expensive to drive a lot. (I’m driving it now, and with TJ & Mary out of town, I’m seriously considering driving his Outback, the Tundra is too big for me)

  9. Barb says:

if you type in your email address wrong, it doesn’t post your comment I just learned.

Bob – I already called Mary & told her she sold is the van under dales pretenses.

Steve – Mary decided at some point last year she wanted a new van, so we were basically gifted her old one. we do (or did) have 3 cars. Tundra doesn’t get driven much anymore. (on purpose, terrible gas mileage)
