Friday? Huh.

Up early with a pot of coffee to watch Australian Rugby playoff game. Yay Sportsball!

Trying to overcome my physical setbacks.

Made a “chili” last night which satisfied me as much as Wednesday night’s Hungry Man dinner; I’ll wind up using to top spaghetti or combining with rice in a burrito.

Weekend looks promising – day of hiking at Sweetwater Creek State Park tomorrow; hashing (essentially hiking for me) way up north in Marietta on Sunday.

  1. Stacy, there is a seat in the M6 reserved for you tomorrow if you want to ride with me, Bonnie, and Wendy. If you can be at the ITP Estate around 8:45am that would be great. I will have a cooler in the car if you need to keep your lunch chilled. We’ll be staying to at least 3:00pm, and perhaps a little later if we are all having a good time.

You are awesome, thank you Paulie! I’m actually going to drive myself in that I have something early afternoon I’ll need to go directly to. 🙂 But I’ll see you cool kids bright and early at the park. Can you believe this is my very first visit EVER to Sweetwater Creek Park?! I’m almost ashamed to admit that!

Last night I went and played with some llamas and alpacas in East Atlanta, then popped off at The Elder Tree for a bite and a brew. Daaaang, EAV is a happenin’ place on Thursday evenings! Tonight I’m heading into Decatur straight from work for a massage. Ohhhh I can’t wait. After that I’ll just be a pile of good on my couch for the night. 🙂

        goo. pile of GOO.

We are getting massages Sunday – so wait – I guess Black Sheep won’t be happening for us after all. Sue is coming over at 4pm.
Then we are having dinner – feeding her keeps the hourly rate down.

So, Stacy, yesterday I read that Frying Pan Tower is actually a hotel now. Who knew?

Sweetwater Creek is peaceful. I have mixed feelings about it, as I was running on a trail there when I jacked up my knee a couple of years ago. But it wasn’t the trail’s fault, that was just the straw that broke the camel’s back. And at least I was doing something fun when I tweaked my knee, and not one of those middle-age injuries one gets just turning around because someone calls your name.

I haven’t been to Sweetwater in years – I need to get back out there – but with all the Chattahoochee parks very near me, and Kennesaw Mtn, its hard to make myself drive that far. (and, its not really that far, its just farther)

        • Stacy Fox says:

I saw that too, Lurker! And, oh, that would be right up my alley. I hope it survives. Last I read the camera is no longer live due to lack of power and whatnot. Makes sense.

      • I’ve not been to Sweetwater Creek in a couple of years. I’ve heard they changed the trails and done something in/around the mill ruins. I’m interested to see.

Day 1 went well. No crashes and one tied American record for 200m, which was amazing. I got to fire the gun a few times, catching most by surprise.

Debbie made it back in time for her and Saddle Sores to see her boyfriend Chris Isaak. Happy Almost Birthday, sweetie.

We are trying to figure out what to do on Saturday, planning to bike ride, just not sure where.
We should be attending Black Sheep…….
Looking like Florence shouldn’t affect us too much, or so they are saying.

  4. barb says:

see above – now we will NOT be attending Black Sheep – almost forgot about massages on sunday. what’s wrong with me?

  5. Decided I didn’t want to deal with traffic today so I am working from home. 😁

Guess I should be smart and save some money by eating lunch here too. Spaghetti and chili???

  6. Bonnie informed me that the Jimmie’s Chicken Shack Show a week from today at Masquerade has been cancelled due to Florence canceling another show they were scheduled to play. Dangen!

I guess I’ll have to find out how to get a refund.

  7. With this recipe “Cincinnati Chili” >> “Bowl of Chili”
