On the backend of a cold that settled in my body on Friday. I may have done myself a disservice by going on the Urban Explorers bike ride yesterday, but after lying about all day and night Saturday I needed to get out and be with people. I am struggling to get engaged and moving this morning…

    What. A. Beautiful. Weekend!

Got 2 motorized rides in for a total of 60+ miles. Blew a couple of shifts, and am still getting used to the bike, but otherwise successful training. Spent several minutes on both rides doing figure 8’s in parking lots. Back to basics.

20+ miles self propelled on Saturday. I don’t know an exact number as the phone died about halfway through. Felt much better than recent rides so what little time I’ve spent on the trainer has helped.

Home Chef is still batting a thousand. Baked chicken with a parmesan mustard breading and Mongolian beef tacos both good and easy.

    Hope you feel better.

    interesting weekend –
We got a call about going to the GA Tech – Virginia game Saturday – free club level seats (courtesy of Dr King at Hyox) that included 2 beers! I didn’t think you could drink at college games. We were 5 rows behind the visiting team – its wild being that close – I watched the sidelines more than I should have – very interesting.
Missed a Chattahooligan surprise birthday party Saturday night, and the Parrothead Thanksgiving party, but sometimes you just can’t do everything. And sometimes, you just have to do something different – like go watch GA Tech.

We did go for a road ride on Sunday – Allan’s hamstring is getting there, but its not up for mountain biking, so we had to skip the Wheelhopper.

My parents get here tomorrow about 2:20 if the flight is on time………

I’ve learned to just accept that I simply cannot be productive on Monday mornings any more, or at least do any deep thinking on Monday mornings. I’m getting better at scheduling important but not urgent tasks, such as bookkeeping, errands, breakfast meetings, and so on Monday mornings to get the week rolling. That way I can avoid trying to self-flagellate myself into doing “what I should be doing”, which never works out, just makes the hole deeper.

It’s also a testament to me being able to really disconnect from my work over the weekends. I’ll take that as the price of admission to having a better life. It’s still pretty new for me.

  4. Decided to work from home today. While I will get on the scale and report my findings tomorrow, I don’t expect to like what I see.

  5. Just discovered making a version of grilled cheese using garlic naan. Mind blown.

I may have to buy a new car.
