I still don’t understand how traffic can be so much lighter when school is out, but I am certainly not complaining.

Fun time at the hash campout. I’m sure those of you who went to Enema’s hash had a fun time as well.

Pants are telling me that I am having too much fun. I’m certain that when I finally get to see the doctor on April 19th (unless there is am cancellation beforehand) he will tell me the same thing.

Good crowd for George’s on Saturday- about 30 showed up at the start, but there was 60-70 at the bar. Enema had the place closed down for the party, so he had to spend a decent amount of money – shots were flowing at the end – to get to his minimum charge!
I then got invited to Panty’s Waste’s 60th birthday last night (in the right place at the right time on Saturday) – its amazing those 2 have ben friends since childhood, and were born about a week apart in Lacrosse, WI – and still great friends today.

Allan’s not April Fools Day birthday will be a low key Mexican dinner tonight, since he decided to work for someone on his 50th birthday tomorrow.

It was a great crowd Saturday. I would have partaken of the open bar at the end, but I was driving. I knew things were about to get crazy when the bottle of Jameson and 6 shot glasses went by. Overall, with the matching donation from somewhere, we raised $1600 for Piedmont Cancer. Good time.

Started the process of mounting the crash bars on the scooter. Thought I had all the bolts necessary, but missing a few. And I don’t know what they used to put these on with, but they are TIGHT! Then suddenly free- the first one I thought I had snapped in half, but apparently whatever Loctite was used finally gave way. Almost hurt myself.

I learned a new German word over the weekend: Der Kummerspeck, which roughly translates to grief-bacon for the fat one puts on from emotional eating.

In other news I day-hiked the Fiery Gizzard trail near Monteagle, TN. Two mile loop, but if you misinterpret the signs you can tack on an extra 11.8 miles. About half the trail goes by waterfalls of varying sizes. Truly lovely trail.

From personal experience I can attest Der Kummerspeck does indeed cause a fiery gizzard.

sounds fun! Why were you up there?
My cousin lives in Winchester, TN, and her daughter goes to University of the South, GORGEOUS campus. I need to text my cousin, I haven’t talked to her in forever.

      • ITP Lurker says:

I met my brother and our cousin in Chattanooga. The Fiery Gizzard trail met a number of requirements to fit into everyone’s departure schedule on Sunday. I highly recommend the trail if you find yourself up that way.

  4. Barb says:

oh yeah – I went ITP on Sunday – dropped some stuff Allan needed at the firehouse, Station 1 is easy (but not easy) to find…….. a little fun driving around downtown, but not too bad.
THEN – went over to Cabbagetown & walked to Beltline for a while – ate brunch at Ladybird’s & finally tried a Lime scooter. JoAnna & I felt so hip. Not sure if Lime is better than Bird, but she already had the app set up on her phone from San Diego scootering.

    • ITP Lurker says:

I haven’t tried the Lime scooters yet, but the Jump scooters are much more solidly built than then the Bird scooters. I’m glad you rode a scooter. They’re fun! We might have crossed paths yesterday if I’d been in town, you were all over my stomping grounds.

      • Barb says:

the Bird’s do seem a little less solid, that is for sure.
it was fun- we didn’t go too far, it was a little nipply yesterday – but it was something to do…………spent a whopping $2.35.
now that I have the app & all the info set up – I’m sure I will do it again.
QUESTION – can you rent more than 1 scooter on the same phone app? we couldn’t figure out how to, or if it is even possible.

        • I believe it’s one scooter per phone, but having never rented one myself…

        • ITP Lurker says:

One scooter per app per device. I do imagine you could rent a Lime scooter and a Bird scooter at the same time though on the same phone.

When you get a chance you should try the red Jump bikes from Uber. Those are even more fun than the scooters.

          • Barb says:

I have enough bikes I’ve already paid for – I can’t be paying for another bike to ride….. hahahahahaha
but- they are e-bikes – right?
            Well then – maybe……..

          • ITP Lurker says:

Yes, e-bikes…I wouldn’t recommend them otherwise.

Over the weekend I went to Callaway Gardens for their wine and food festival. The drive took me through Luthersville! I didn’t even know where that was. I waved at Steve and Debbie as I went through.
