Got my fat ass out of bed on a cold morning only to have beaten the Waschsalon employee to work. Ah, she just arrived.

Hmm, for the second time in a row one of the Waschsalon’s perks, WiFi, seems to be non-functional. I hope that they have not done away with this.

Tonight I will be experimenting on Betsy by making this Vegan Irish Stew. I know, this is blasphemy… 😂

At 6:00 AM this morning at least 3 cars were broken into right in front of my house. Windows busted out. Didn’t hear a thing but my bedroom is at the back of the house and the house is pretty long. And I sleep with a loud air purifier on. We have a HUGE issue with car break-ins in my neighborhood. We have APD cameras in my hood and they did get them on tape on the next street, so there’s that.

FYI not my cars, both were in the garage. However, one night in the near future one car will spend the night on the street due to having to pick up a rental car the night before. Ugh.

      • barb says:

Glad your cars were not involved, I rarely lock my doors, just hoping if someone wants to root thru my car, they dont’ break a window to do it.
And – this is one of the main reasons Allan has never wanted to live “in the city”. Not that it doesn’t happen everywhere, but it happens more in town. and – I love having a garage, that was one of the 1st things we did after buying out house, but the garage onto it.

        • Bonnie says:

This is my first garage, or even covered parking for that matter, that I’ve had since I moved out of my parents’ house.

I know at least 2 vehicles were SUVs and I don’t know if they had items showing or not. I suspect there was something to tempt the break-ins but not sure…

    • 6am seems “late” to be shattering glass as the likelihood of people being awake seems high.

    • ITP Lurker says:

I can attest that waking up to one’s car window being broken is a miserable start to a day. The crime wave is an unfortunate sign that Christmas is coming. At least in Grant Park this shit happens in spells, usually with long gaps in between.

What?! No fake meat?! 🤯 😁😘

    • Of course I could…. Nah, I think I will follow the recipe verbatim and see how it goes. This recipe will also have me going to Trader Joe’s for the ingredients. I want to see if I can buy individual pieces of vegetables, such as the carrots, parsnips, and maybe celery, instead of entire bags/bunches/heads.

      • ITP Lurker says:

This might save you a trip: Trader Joe’s doesn’t sell singles on what you’re looking for. Most vegetables are bagged.

And I think countless leprechauns are spinning in their graves at the prospect of vegan Irish stew. 😉

We had hoped to go to a $5 Tuesday movie last night (Studio Movie Grill deal) but didn’t get done at the in-laws in time, so we ate leftovers & watched another episode of that Ken burns Country Music documentary. (couldn’t talk Allan into that Garth Brooks special I recorded). Ken Burns does such a great job, I’m learning so much, someday we will get thru all the episodes.

Got my Christmas cards – now to just get all the envelopes addresses………

  4. Steve says:

Sorry to hear about the cars. A friend inHouston who is rebuilding after a house fire, had just replaced a motorcycle last week. 2 days later, it was stolen. Ugh.

As expected, numbers were ugly at the board meeting. We set aside a “rainy day fund” some years ago instead of buying rain insurance. That was a good plan. Still paid out our charitables, so all good.

Heading over to the hunt shortly…

  5. In the office now, suffering more 1st World problems – my iPad inexplicably rebooted, and its battery is starting to show the early stages of the same fatigue my iPhone SE experienced.

All theft and vandalism sucks. You could always park your car in my carport. Oh, wait… 🙄😕

  6. All Hands meeting over. I still have a job, but the company is losing a VP (his choice to depart).

  7. Huh, just received an email alerting me that the GA400 ride has been canceled because their petition to close GA400 for 45 minutes has been denied.

    • Steve says:

And you lycra clad freaks get off my lawn…
      So much for sharind.

    • barb says:

Not surprised really that it has gone on as long as it has.
I’m sure its because the GDOT doesn’t want to deal with all the complaints of closing the Hwy for 40-45 minutes.

  8. Yesterday I mentioned that I noticed Octane/Revelator was no longer at Woodruff Arts Center. I just read that at year’s end they will also be vacating The Jane in Grant Park.

    • ITP Lurker says:

Yeah, Little Tart is taking over the whole space. Based on their Summerhill location Little Tart has a strong coffee program on their own, so the only thing that should change is the ability to pay for purchases in one fell swoop instead of paying Octane/Revelator for coffee on their cash register and then buying something to eat from Little Tart on their separate cash register. That was always so goofy. That’s why we have computers, to sort shit like that out.
