Hello from the ITP Estate! I am proving my theory that I do not function at my best when working from home, no matter how much I love not wasting time of my life commuting.

Yesterday I puttered along and after work I put in a good 45 minutes on the trainer, appropriately attired in my Ireland jersey.

Last night, thanks to ITP-Reader Bonnie, I streamed the Dropkick Murphys’ audience-less concert from Boston.

Here’s my dinner from last night.

Physical Distancing Means Meals At Home
It was a riff on pasta with pesto, roasted red peppers, green beans, and almonds, to which I also added garlic and capers. Bonnie, I know that I joked on Instagram about not having a recipe, but I did take notes so I can possibly recreate this in the future. (FYI – the Red Hook bottle is placed there intentionally because its label mirrors the colors in the food, and it’s what I drank with my dinner. 😉)

After the concert I was looking to see if the documentary about the Adventure Race that “General Erectdick” and “Dumbfuck” did last year was available on Amazon Prime, and found Ride to Extraordinary: The Trans North Georgia Race, instead. Apparently this race has been around for awhile and I have never heard of it. Inconceivable! I watched two of the seven episodes and am hooked.

How are you all doing today?

  1. Making my first attempt at no-knead bread. Dough is mixed and must now proof for up to 24 hours. I’m skeptical but will find out tomorrow.

I thought the DKM show was good. Good video/audio but I suppose that’s the norm these days 😁. Not the same as live, but hopefully I’ll see them again in May or whenever they may reschedule.

My vegan Irish stew turned out OK I guess. Only real issues were the parsnips weren’t quite soft enough and there wasn’t enough liquid so after I ate I added more stock and cooked it some more. Probably diluted some flavor.

Of course my property tax appeal hearing scheduled for today is not happening (again). Perhaps the third time will be the charm, whenever that may be…

Now I’m hearing about some cat litter shortages from my friends. My nextdoor neighbor is going to drive to Marietta today to try and score some of her brand that she found. I checked and my brand seems to still be available…

Can’t believe you hadn’t heard of that race – our Wheelhopper friend Well Hung has attempted it – on a SINGLE SPEED – I know he didn’t finish hat year. I’m not sure if he rode it again the next year with gears or not -I’ve forgotten now.

It was so nice out last night – we went for a walk around the neighborhood.
Hopefully tonight will be nice again – maybe we will go ride the road bikes.

  4. Since I expect to work from home for awhile I did the unthinkable, I am having an Amazon order sent to my house. 😂

  5. barb says:

I was thinking about attempting to make some bread or at least pizza dough, its been a while since I’ve tried.
Trying to decide what to make for dinner tonight – Allan is at home, so he will get to make the actual decision.
Sal decided she was afraid of our germs – since we were in NYC. The shoe store has laid off about everyone. I told her to come over & eat……..

  6. barb says:

A mobile car wash guy just came to our office door – he’s only charging me $10 for the outside. If I didn’t have so much crap in my car, I’d let him do the inside too.

  7. Scratch Spring LEAF from the calendar…

  8. Steve says:

I’ve been trying to work, but my connection has been sketchy for some reason today.

Did manage to dust off the CX bike last night. Some pavement and some gravel. Stopped at a friends to see here new foal- horses don’t have albinos but this one is sort of that way. A light blonde color with blue eyes. Very odd.

I can’t look at the markets- I don’t want to think about it. I’m just trying to put the days together, one after another. And I’m in a good position!! I hate it for Sal.

  9. Snuck my workout in early. Oddly now that it’s lunchtime I’m not the least bit hungry. 🙃

Ride to the extraordinary is an awesome series, I watched it last week. Eddie O’Dea (old course record holder) lives in Roswell and rides/padels with us, pretty cool dude.

Working from home with Laura and Travis both here is challenging. Hopefully we will get a better routine soon.

Today I learned we can submit the census online: http://my2020census.gov. This is great, I’d so much rather fill paperwork like this out online versus on paper. The paper form is tricky, it says “only 10 questions”, but most every question is multi-part.

    • I only received two letters, each of which telling me how to report online.

      • barb says:

I guess they don’t care about Cobb county – we’ve got nothing so far.

      • ITP Lurker says:

Now that I open the census letters, I see I received the same thing as you. I looked up the paper form online a month ago to see what it entailed, and assumed the bigger of the two envelopes they sent was for the paper form. Guess I would have figured this out eventually. They follow up with an actual paper form if you don’t comply online.
