Happy Delayed Tax Day! Oh, I am paying again… Note to Self: follow up with tax preparer to find out when taxes will actually be filed since you have paid them.

Yesterday was a day — cook, eat, clean; repeat. I guess my highlights include doing 45 minutes on the trainer, and feeling lost but not completely lost in German class.

I am doing a bit of sneezing this morning, I think dust and pollen have finally caught up with me.

This morning I was going to replenish my coffee supply by walking up to Joe’s, but a quick look at my calendar shows today not being a great day to do so. I know, right?!?! Tomorrow? Will tomorrow be a Waschsalon day? Friday? Will I take Friday off from to honor the fact that initially I was going to be waking up in Rutledge for Spring Tune Up? Who the hell knows…

Off to do Day 3 of “100 Days of Swift” and “100 Days of SwiftUI”.

Make it a great day.

  1. Hoping the coffee I could make kicks in soon because I am very sleepy…

    • Bonnie says:

???. You do have some coffee on hand, don’t you?

    • Yes thanks. I have enough ground for two more days 😀, enough for another two days if I use my grinder 🙄, and enough for a week if I drink the gawdawful coffee bags I bought once for LEAF 😬😂.

  2. Bonnie says:

Save your vacation days for when we can all have fun together again! 🙂

  3. Steve Brady says:

I think there will be a lot of vacation time spent in the Fall. I know I don’t see any reason to take a day if I can’t do anything!

Games BoD meeting last night. Still on schedule, right up until it ain’t. We don’t need to make that call now, that’s for sure. Grandfather Mtn. is still on schedule- 2nd weekend of July. I think they are a bit optimistic. The Tattoo in Edinburgh, the big games in Cowel (sp) Scotland, and the World Pipe Band Championships have all been cancelled. As bands can’t practice, we don’t think we will have much of a competition, if any. I really think pulling the plug is inevitable, but it’s too early yet.

20 miles on CX after work. Windy! Was coasting down the relatively flat Bear Creek Road at 18 mph. being pushed by the wind.

Glad German class went better than anticipated. You’ve come this far.. if you have to take this class again to be fully up to speed, so be it.

    • It’s weird to think about canceling Fall events, but I guess it might happen? I know life won’t be “normal” again any time soon, regardless of what the Banana Republic in DC says on a daily basis.

I know I elude to it often, but I have a ton of manual labor yard work that needs to be done, and perhaps might best be done when it’s not hot. That being said, I also admit that I hate doing yard work. 😂

      • Steve Brady says:

I don’t know what normal will look like. We were talking last night on the call and discussed we may not be back to “normal” until a vaccine is available and in common distribution. That could be a while. as I understand it, this thing is just a meaner version of the flu and common cold- how’s THAT vaccine coming along?

ok – just because of my love for bagpipes – how can you tell if they have practiced or not????

We went & rode our bikes from East Cobb down by the river in Roswell – only 18 miles, but it was breezy & I didn’t want to ride many hills – I am out of biking shape. DAMN there were lots of people out walking on the Boardwalk/Riverwalk.
And- because they have closed all the parking lots, everyone parks on the side of the road, and some in the bike lane. Roswell police are missing a good opportunity to ticket dumbasses………… one car was right next to the no parking sign.

      • Steve Brady says:

It is a band of musicians, and while they can be home practicing a particular piece, they still all have to play it the same way. And there’s marching and working together as a group. That sort of stuff. And I’m not a fan either…

        • barb says:

Steve – I love you explained it – I was being sarcastic of course. I think they sound the same no matter what they do……… (and I’m not a fan either)

          • Steve Brady says:

I figured… I can only say that when you hear a good band- rare- it sounds like one big pipe and really will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up.

          • Bonnie says:

            I love bagpipes!!!

          • Surprisingly I like bagpipes, even though I suffered through hearing high school students butcher them when I was in high school. As Steve can attest, my high school Dunedin High, is in a sister-city to Edinburgh Scotland.

  4. Just made a cup of tea and debating whether or not I want to do exercise (trainer) during my lunch time. Another option would be to take a nap.

    • Decided to nap, fifteen minutes done, feel a little better, and am now heating up lunch. If exercise happens today it’ll have to occur after I clock out, and before I do virtual Top Chef watching with Betsy tonight.

  5. HamWithCam says:

    FYI StarLink pass, tonight:
StarLink 5, 6 (older) Bright for 6 minutes
Look from SOUTHWEST (232 deg) to NORTH (346 deg)
Elevation (from the horizon): start 10 deg, max 67 deg, end: 64 deg

so – went to Discount Tire to get my tires rotated – they are SLOW, if you need any car work done, get it done. I”M missing a stud & 2 lug nuts. I got the tires in August, I need to find my receipt from Subaru, when I got the tires aligned at East Cobb Auto, they had noted that 1 was missing (did they tell me, I don’t think so, but I never actually read the receipt). I think it happened at Discount tire, but it could be Subaru’s fault. It doesn’t cost much to get the parts, its just they don’t want to be “responsible” for it if it wasn’t their fault. That was my fun lunch time.
I also went to QT while I was waiting, they try to keep the whole 6 foot rule & 10 or less in the store, but doesn’t really work. I wore my mask………

  7. Snail Mail contained coupons from Kroger that expire in late June, so I may be able to use them…

  8. Steve Brady says:

I’m sure our Kroger coupons are piling up somewhere I don’t expect. I still have the customer number linked to our old land line at JEFDSDR. They won’t be tracking us!!

And I’m fighting the good fight staying connected. It’s definitely my iPhone’s problem. Something about a marginal signal, I guess. Connect through the satellite fine, every time.

Thanks for the heads up HwC! (I made a funny).

  9. barb says:

Anyone get any stimulus money? I haven’t yet.
But -they took my payment today for the 2019 taxes out of my bank account.

  10. HamWithCam says:

Our daughter (Elizabeth, lives in Dallas, TX) received her Economic Impact Payment via direct deposit. She has already filed her 2019 Federal return and received a refund, both electronically.

I’m guessing that’s what put her in the first 80 Million.
