Yesterday turned out to be such a lost cause that I thought today was Monday. Huh. Because of the way things unfolded yesterday I broke my workout streak which stood at seventeen days. I suppose a day off is not horrific, though I don’t know how I will manage to find the time today, nor do I feel my greatest either.

The positive take-away from yesterday’s “extra” time was that I was able to bake another pumpkin bread (nailed it!) as well as a casserole of faux-chicken, black beans, yellow rice, cheeeeeese, and a slew of vegetables that I had on hand. Both of these will help feed me for days.

Okay, off to do my things. Have a great day all!

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 210.0 pounds (-0.8 from last week’s weigh-in); hey, that’s good though!

  1. Oh yeah, I did finish watching all of “Silicon Valley” yesterday, so at least I’ve got that going for me too.

  2. Day 16, first day of divergence between “100 Days of Swift” and “100 Days of SwiftUI”, complete!

Later I need to find time to study German, and hopefully get is a workout if I feel okay to do so.

  3. Lurker has mentioned some of these, but I just stumbled on this post 38 Wonderful Words with No English Equivalent

A fairly quiet day yesterday- work work, yard work- cleaned a spot on the gutters at valley that collects leaves. Blew the carport and deck. Debbie attempted to go to Kroger. She went, but without her wallet! Oops. I would have brought her wallet, or gotten a code for the Wells Fargo ATM and withdraw without a card but no. What little cash she had went towards coffee cake so she could have breakfast- and was half eaten by the time she got home!

Almost to the end of season 3 of Outlander. Not sure where season 4 is.

    • You remind me that I need to go up on my roof and blow it, as well as the gutters, clean this weekend. That, along with having to clean around the air conditioner compressor before the company comes out to check on it in a couple of weeks.

210: *Fist bump* Paulie! I’m at 127 (-0.50 from last week), which is good except that I have knowledge that I was 125.5 the morning of my birthday. 😁

Yesterday I rode 20 to Intrenchment Creek Park and the South River Trail. This is my go-to route; I need to scope out some new routes from my house. Now that the Silver Comet has re-opened I see some driving in my near future. I also plan to attempt Dirty Sheets the next time the weather permits and it hasn’t rained recently.

I’ve made this One-Pot Creamy Mushroom Pasta twice now—yum! I used red lentil pasta both times (gluten-free and high protein). https://www.pickuplimes.com/single-post/2019/11/21/One-pot-Creamy-Mushroom-Pasta

    • Good on you! I wish I could have joined you for your ride yesterday. Stupid COVID-19, stupid job that I need to keep for as long as possible.

The Stone Mountain route is good, you have it in your bike compute now. You don’t have to go all the way, I have been known to turn around “early”.

Red lentil pasta? Mamma Mia! 🤯 I almost have all the ingredients need to make it; I am missing shallots but could substitute onion for them.

      • Bonnie says:

I used an onion, I rarely bother with buying shallots. The pasta is very good I think. I’ve discovered that Barilla’s non-wheat options are the least expensive option at Kroger ($1.99), perhaps even Aldi but I need to check that.

I wish you could have joined me too. 😢 I may try Stone Mountain again on my own but you know me and my lack of sense of direction… even with my Wahoo 🙄. I suppose the worst thing that happens is I “waste” some time figuring out wrong turns…

        • Steve says:

I would be up for some Dirty Sheets but you would have to show me the way.

          • Bonnie says:

Steve, you haven’t ridden Dirty Sheets? That surprises me. It seems pretty straightforward according to the map I got from Ride With GPS? However, I’m sure it would be torture for you to ride with me. 🙂 Someone I ran into yesterday on my ride (a faster folk) mentioned how hard it was to ride with the slower folks (that’s me!) during Saturday’s “Beltgrind.” He’s not wrong, I get it…

          • Bob says:

Bonnie that is BS and anybody that would say it is hard to ride with slower people is just an asshole. If you want to ride fast then ride fast, if you want to ride with friends you ride their pace. This is why roadies don’t have friends. You never force a slower rider out of their comfort zone. I ride with slower people all the time and it is easy to just hold up at turns or slow the F down.

          • barb says:

I know who said it – and you’d expect that comment from him. But – he also said the group was too big, it wasn’t really the pace, it was that everyone was wanting to do different & other things.
We might ride it Saturday with him, but it won’t be very many people. (we don’t want to pub crawl it)

          • I think I know the culprit too. During these times the smaller the “group”, the better I would assume.

I just bookmarked a Dirty Sheets map in REI’s MTB Project app for future use. 🙌🏻

          • Steve Brady says:

And I can bring a “slow” bike.. hell, all my bikes lately seem to have the slow option installed. If I get ahead, I can wait- I ain’t no racist.

        • I like shallots, but don’t buy them often. I’m sure the pasta is wonderful, I was just being silly.

  6. barb says:

busy day at work – I just wish our global shipping would get moving again, I do way too much stuff with 40′ ocean containers, and it is about impossible these days.

Hoping to go for a road bike ride this evening, I guess I need to tell Allan….. I’m sure he’s still sleeping, he was quite grumpy when he got home this morning.

  7. Been an annoying day as I fight what I can best describe as a “Spring Cold”, which is not unusual for me to suffer this time of year. I have had a runny nose and sneeze every once in awhile. It’s been further annoying to me as I am struggling to be productive at work as is, and in theory I will be dialing in to a German class Zoom call tonight.
