Funny, as I was about to type that I was going to avoid the pun related to today’s date, and the podcast to which I am listening started in with the Star Wars theme. Whoa…

The weekend was good but I think that this pandemic has also reduced my tolerance for alcohol. 😱 Admittedly the single churro muffin I ate prior to beer consumption was not nearly enough after a long walk in the heat with Bonnie (such a trooper as we went on a route so bizarre one could confuse it for a hash), but man did the beer hit back hard! After scarfing down dinner my head hit a pillow wand I was passed out well before 8pm; this will make what you read be a little more sensible.

I also accomplished a long walk on Saturday with Betsy and her dog Bella, and had I understood the path taken by four of the planes on Saturday, would have had some phenomenal photos (okay, probably blurry photos) taken from my deck; four of the planes flew nearly directly over the ITP Estate.

I realize that I am not alone in stating that this pandemic has temporarily changed my routine. Never before have I awakened early, cooked and eaten breakfast, washed and hung to dry an entire “load” of laundry (two days in a row!), and cleaned up the dishes from last night and this morning. After I publish this I need to hit the shower and go to work.

Below are my stats for April. What’s interesting about the month is that I believe all of the “meat days” are associated with a bean soup recipe that I made using a package of andouille sausage.

For the record, I urged Paulie to eat like five times. 😁 Perhaps he was trying to be polite since all I had with me for my lunch was a Cliff Bar (a fine meal by me).

    • That is very true.

We intended to take out food from the village, but the only restaurant serving food that sounded good was Flat Iron and the we discovered they were only serving brunch items until 3pm, I poo-pooed it since I had eaten biscuits and eggs at 6:30am and was hankering for an Impossible burger. I would have offered Bonnie some of the vegetarian leftovers on hand, but in these days of being cautious…

  2. Since this is day eight since I last drove the M6 I considered doing an Aldi and Kroger run this morning. However, I am not in dire need and have some more work to do this morning. Perhaps later, or later in the week.

I watched one of the videos of the flyover and as they banked around the Dome and headed East, I thought they would have been going directly over the ITP Estate. We went and watched from South of Newnan Piedmont. We were clever in thinking of the high ground, but weren’t so clever not to be surrounded by 30 other cars in the church lot and along the dead end road. Still fun.

Saturday, a ride on the road bike of 20. Still didn’t feel great, but was riding hard, so maybe I just need to go ride and ignore the computer. Saturday evening, we joined some hunt folks for a cookout and bonfire. There was a tiny bit of social distancing- probably needed to be more.

Sunday, since the Huddle House is no more, Debbie wanted pancakes and I obliged. Then it was out to scooter around to the South. Found a neat cemetery to wander through.

This morning, Daisy is getting a “fitness check” for having babies! We decided to breed her since lots of friends horses are having foals.

    • Four essentially did go over my deck, perhaps a block north of me at most. When I looked at the map I thought they would not be coming quite this far east.

  4. Day 22 of “100 Days of Swift” and “10p Days of SwiftUI” complete! I know it falls on my shoulders to retain what I am learning, but I hope this learning helps with my future.

  5. HVAC guy not scheduled to be here until 5/13. The prediction of high temperatures in the mid-80s today and tomorrow will test my resolve. I have been fortunate until now, and am keeping my fingers crossed that the cool temperatures predicted for the week’s end are accurate.

On another note: I need to start spending less money. I am constantly gobsmacked at my monthly credit card bills, especially considering how little I do these days. I’m sure May will be painful too since I will have a quarterly car insurance payment in addition to whatever my HVAC maintenance will cost. And on top of credit card bills I also have monthly withdrawals for mortgage, water bill, etc. 😢

    very busy weekend.
Friday night H5 at George’s – since there was an unsanctioned hash that night, there wasn’t as many people there – we took Allan’s moto down. So many people out & about on 10th St and Piedmont Park.
Saturday did the beltgrind ride with Dean – a couple spots that were blocked off made is re-route, ended up being 27.5 miles – that’s a LOT for me on the mtn bike. had a beer (well, really 2 as it was a 32oz growler) at Best End – heard the planes, looked up & they flew right over us. Didn’t have the camera ready, but that’s ok – plenty of those on the internet.
Sunday went on a walkabout over near Life College with Davey, Ooops, Deposit & Stacy. beautiful morning for a walk.
Sat around at the AL Burress park parking lot after with beverages, that park was dubbed the “pickle park” and we had lots of fun making up stories for all the single men that were out for a stroll.
Stopped by a friends house Sunday night since it was his 50th birthday, he & some friends took me out on my 40th when Allan was working, so I figured I owed him. Good to see him & a couple Parrothead friends I hadn’t see in forever.

And compared to Sally, we’re all a bunch of pikers on our bikes. She had a 300 miles week! I think the only time I had that kind of week was on BRAG or riding to Panama City (over 40 years ago!).

    • She is a machine. I’m glad I don’t attempt to compare myself to her. 😁

I guess I did that sort of distance on RAGBRAI in 2016. Oh how long ago 2016 feels to me these days..,

    • barb says:

Sal is very bored – so she’s taking these exercise challenges way too seriously.

      • Steve Brady says:

Sal is clearly bored! But I guess I can’t blame her. She would never be the one to sit on the sofa and eat bonbons.

      • barb says:

she needs to get back to work, but who knows if & when the shoe store will reopen for regular shopping. I think its sort of appt only – and they only have 1 or 2 people working tops.
