6:10am and I’ve only “been awake” for twenty minutes! I’ve not even had the time to do today’s Washington Post crossword puzzle. I am certainly not going to be “in the office” by 7:00.

Initially I was planning to be at Lowe’s at this time, but I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to buy this morning so I decided to stay home instead. One reason for my indecision is that I did the unthinkable yesterday, I ordered more seeds online. To be fair, I’ve discovered that seeds are tough to come by (at least from the big seed purveyors) again this year, and I found a small company that is selling some of the seeds I wanted to buy, at reasonable prices. I ordered from The South Georgia Seed Company, which is kinda funny for me to think about since they are based north of Atlanta in Ellijay. Another reason I didn’t rush out to Lowe’s today is because I don’t think that I will be doing much outdoor laboring this weekend due to the forecasted weather.

The next time I walk with Betsy, tentatively scheduled for tomorrow morning, I shall be spreading my seed, err, sharing some of my purchased seeds with her. Most seed packets contain far more seeds than a small-scale urban homesteader (wannabe) can plant, so it does no harm for me to give some away.

Regardless which day I walk with Betsy I will once again have trash pickup gear in hand for the first part of our walk. Though laudable, my effort is scant in comparison to the man I read about yesterday in this Washington Post story. Essentially this man, a former software executive who is also just a year younger than me, has been walking up to twelve miles a day since last June picking up trash. 🙌🏼

Last night’s German class wasn’t great again; due to lack of immersion and practice the entire class struggled again. It has gotten so bad that the teacher is suggesting that as a group we regress a few levels and (attempt to actually) learn again. This sounds familiar, because it’s exactly what I did last June. I’m living a German Groundhog Day!

I’ll be standing around at Black Sheep on Sunday. I hope the rain breaks for awhile by then.

Hope you all are remaining healthy and happy, even if this weather is keeping you indoors.

  1. The rain gauge collected a little more than 0.5 inches of rain yesterday.

I don’t understand why people litter.

    • I remember that photo! Taken nearly eleven years ago? Holy smokes.

Nor do I John. I am especially confused when I see people throw it out of cars. I mean, how inconsiderate can people be?

  3. Monitoring the big toe on my right foot. It’s been bugging me lately (what part of my body hasn’t?) and I am starting to wonder if I have a bit of an infection? May have to visit a doc in a box today.

I will venture to midtown today to meet my first primary care doctor I’ve had since moving to Georgia. We can swap doctors’ stories later, oooh, what fun lives we currently lead… 😕

    I have never understood littering…

I think a lot of the anticipated rain last night missed us. If it hit, I never heard it.

Heard a rumor about work- a change in how we do our jobs which will be a PITA. I hope we can convince them not to make the change. Nothing earth shattering, just a paperwork change for a lot of what we do.

Dinner last night at Johnny’s Pizza. For some reason, we scored free cinnamon and sugar knots. They make a great breakfast!

    Enjoy your weekend!

  5. Back from doctor, actually third doctor office, he thinks I’ve bruised my toe and that I don’t have an infection. I can see that.

This was the third office I visited because the first was going to charge me urgent care rates, and the second had no idea how low of have to wait (in my car) to see a doctor. I wound up driving all the way to Clairmont/Briarcliff, which was fine by me. Of course I have just seen that the place I visited may screw me financially as well. 😡 Has urgent care become the new payday loan?

Now if I could just get the rest of my body healed/fixed…
