It’s 420 dude, smoke em if you’ve got em.
Just a quick one again today as I don’t have much to report.
Yesterday I spent the day at home recovering, cleaning, organizing, and puttering around WLF.
In the farm I planted some cucumber seeds, hoping that these will finally grow. I also moved some of the seedling pots into the sun and may have accidentally killed them by doing so; I always think sunlight is good for plants, but I think that they baked inside the cold frame’s new location. 😢
Oh, yesterday I saw a green lizard running around WLF! That’s a first for me since moving here in 1999.
Dinner last night was a salad of lettuce leaves and radishes, all sourced from WLF. Had critters not destroyed plantings over the weekend I’d have a selection of radishes from which to choose for consumption soon. Today I hope to find the time to re-sow radish seeds, but that means that I won’t have a crop until a month from now.
Hope you had a healthy and happy Monday.
Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 181.6 pounds (-0.2 from last week’s weigh-in); after riding all weekend I hoped for a larger loss, but I guess that there was too much imbibing? Poop!
4/20? Today is Apple Event Day! Time to see if the laptop which is reportedly to be delivered tomorrow becomes obsolete today.
I have never understood the association between 4/20 and dope smoking, but light up if that’s your thing.
I was just about to close up shop for the day when I got 2 quick emails from BB&T- the first one was zero balance and the second was negative balance. I figured out pretty quickly I had moved money around to cover the checks for the land guys but realized with the emails I had written the checks on the other BBT account. I quickly signed on and rearranged the funds once again and everything was covered. Fortunately we have been customers long enough they don’t charge us for such mistakes. Of course, I think we pay a monthly fee for the pleasure of using their website!!!
I smoothed the last spot of burn pile yesterday, then put on the landscape rake for the final finish. I’m still working on the technique so I let the machine do the work and not have to pick up lots of piles of debris. More practice.
Debbie was sure the baby was coming last night…
Still no baby.

Yikes! I wonder if my bank would do the same. I know that I once canceled a credit card, who I paid on time every month for many years, because they insisted on charging me a late fee because some how my auto-payment got canceled.
Good morning.
Weekend was fun, I didn’t ride enough miles, but for really not riding this past year I felt ok with it.
Yesterday was a pretty lazy day for my 1st real day of sabbatical- ran a couple errands, finished some laundry, watched some TV.
Today is dentist day, gotta get it in before my coverage ends at the end of the month.
(Then I need to get switched over to Allan’s insurance, but need some ppwk to get that all set up)
Good luck with all that, Barb.
Yesterday I rode a 22-mile recovery ride on the Silver Comet with the husband. I used my SPD sandals! I almost fell once after I came to a stop, I was clipped out on the right side but leaning toward the left because the ground was unlevel, but I somehow caught myself before I flopped over.
I’m the lightest I’ve been in quite a while, 127.5. Let’s see if I can keep up the trend or ruin it…
You are an animal! 🤜ðŸ¼ðŸ¤›ðŸ¼
Unfortunately your weight loss and faster hashing always seems to happen when I’m not involved. 😢 Keep losing weight until I can play the devil on your shoulder again. 🤣
Yes you were involved, all weekend!
🙂
Bonnie- Good job not falling!
How did it feel pedaling?
Barb—honestly, it didn’t feel much different. However, we were pedaling an average of 11.8 MPH on a flat surface so perhaps it’ll take more to “feel†a difference?
Your new cycling mantra should be “pedal circles” as you push and pull with equal exertion.
Good job Bonnie! That sounds like the perfect recovery ride, as I know it wasn’t fast with the hubs.
And just remember, it’s not if you will fall over with clipless pedals, it’s when. Those that say they have never done it are LYING.
The key is to do it when no one is around to witness. 😉
Great seeing you all this weekend, could not have asked for better weather. Travis gained much confidence on Saturday and on Sunday became part of the pace line, that was really cool to watch.
Bonnie, don’t worry about falling over as it happens to everybody when you switch to clips. Travis fell over while standing still, hell so did I when I first rode with clips.
I am always amazed at how klutzy I can be, as well as how long it takes me to complete simple tasks.
Apple Event is over and they did not update the MacBook Air, so my purchase will not have to be sent back! 😀
