Thursday already? Whoa.

Starting another day early, only this time I am not walking to pick up someone else’s garbage, instead I am at the laundromat getting my dirty clothes washed.

On my drive this morning I saw what my be WLF’s next enemy — I saw two bunny rabbits hopping around at the end of my street. What’s next, deer?

Yesterday was okay, though I really have no interest in the work that I am doing for The Man; the clock is ticking…

It was my turn to cook for Top Chef night. I brought over a rice and bean fake-chicken bake which also incorporated zucchini, patty pan squash, and Swiss chard picked from WLF. I also brought Betsy two cucumbers, one of which she cut and added to the salad greens that she provided.

Cucumbers? You? Yeah, the variety I am growing is “burpless” and it appears that I can tolerate them. If I eat non-burpless cucumbers I wind up tasting them for the rest of the day. In addition to the salad Betsy also whipped up a peach crumble that was incredibly delicious.

Once the laundry is done the rest of my day today will be spent working, WLF choring, and gathering the supplies that I will need for a short camping trip. Who knows, if time permits I may also try making some pickles tonight too.

Hope you are having a happy and healthy week.

Yesterday I spent way too many hours in the greater McDonough area shopping. The shipping and/ online pandemic pricing I would have paid for some of the items would have probably been more than worth it, especially when you factor in an unplanned dinner out. 🤦‍♀️ However, I am ready to Shoot the Hooch anytime I want as I am now the owner of a tube, life jacket and a floating cooler (and/or gear storage). 😁

  2. Laundry done, car filled with gas.

It’s looking like I should have tested my new portable solar panel yesterday since it’s really overcast outside now.

Not even 10:30 and I’ve already had a full day.

We got a call from the fence guys late yesterday. They are already on it this morning. That necessitated walking the planned fenceline with Debbie last night and needing to bush hog a few really thick spots. In bush hogging last night, I managed to snag one of the hot lines between us and the next property. As I knew Mickey has already found a shortcut to the backyard, I couldn’t just leave it and ask for a real jailbreak. I spliced a stick into the line as I already had it pulled as taut as it could go before snapping it!

This morning, online at 6:30-ish and by 7, I was chasing Mickey out of the backyard again! Went and put a real piece of line in place of the stick, and moved another section of fence so the crew could have better access. Then the fence guys showed up and we walked a good chunk so they could get started.

And I got a scooter ride yesterday to make sure my lights wouldn’t shake loose.

Saw the neighbor and got invited to Allan Jackson at the fairgrounds on Saturday. He has a tent for 20 and is planning Ubers from his house. That should keep us from the “commoners”!

I love you spelled Allan right for my hubby, but wrong for Alan Jackson. How fun!!! We will be in Brevard, NC or I’d be begging a seat.

I decided to go to a cycle fusion class at the Y, it’s a combo spin & strength class.
I’m out of shape, it was hard.
Now I’m out pruning my tomatoes, I talked to my neighbor who’s plants are doing much better then mine (I got the seedlings from her).
She even made a YouTube video about it (she’s all into this homesteading concept).

Remind me to tell you the Jake Scott story next time I see you

  5. I may have just eaten the two ripe cherry tomatoes that were on a plant. 😋 #firstWLFtomatoes

Ceili is getting her pre-sale vetting. An interesting process to watch. She seems fine to me, but I didn’t go to vet school. Might even involve x-rays…

And there is already fence posts in the ground! Well, at least a few…

    • I need a scorecard to keep up with all of your animal comings and goings.

      • Steve says:

        So do I!!

The fence I repaired this morning is now coiled up and put away. They are working the road frontage and will make the turn for the back shortly. This is all just setting posts, so no wire yet. The kids are locked in the back yard.

  7. Wow, the DMV is on the ball. I renewed my tag online Monday, and received my sticker in the mail today!

To me it’s much more a testament that the post office is on the ball again. There may still be hope.

I need to get the emissions done on the Subaru.
I guess I could get the CRV over with, that needs nothing
