Well, well, well. After sleeping later than desired I hustled up to the Waschsalon in midtown arriving ten minutes after it opened, or should I say was supposed to open because the attendant is once again late. Dangen! This may be the last time for this Waschsalon because I am tired of their continued failure.

Speaking of failures, I did not get up into the attic yesterday, and I just realized that I forgot to pack the jeans I wore the last time I went up into the attic with my dirty laundry. Double Dangen!

The only thing of interest I did yesterday was to watch a documentary on Hulu last night. The documentary was about the failure of the Dana Carvey Show back in the 1990s. Along with Carvey the show featured the then-unknown Steve Carrell, Stephen Colbert, a young Louis CK, and was directed by Robert Smigel. I found it to be a very interesting watch.

I MUST do laundry today, so I am kinda stuck waiting on the attendant… who just arrived.

I MUST get up into the attic and have a look around today.

And I must (not as critical) go to the grocery store to get a few things to bring to Betsy’s. I think that I will be making veggie burgers tonight.

Other than that, and probably some WLF choring, my day is wide open! 😂

Hope you make it a happy and healthy day.

  1. Steve says:

    This is a test.

  2. Steve says:

OK, I tried 3 or 4 times to post yesterday and kept getting a server error, but I saw others posting, so I don’t know what the deal was.

Lots of wind and rain yesterday, but no damage to speak of. Spoke with my Cajun friend this morning and he has 6 refugees from New Orleans and expecting more. This might get ugly unless they can get the power back on.

We watched an “old” movie last night, “Guarding Tess” with Shirley McLane and whatshisname… she makes acting look so effortless.

Should be a couple good days at the Vuelta.

  3. Clothes in dryers, should be done and folded in an hour.

Next up: attempting to ship back my “XYZ Corp” hardware at a FedEx, and breakfast.

  4. As I sit in the M6 awaiting the dryers to be done I watch many people put plastic bags filled with do shit into garbage cans. While I laud their adherence to the law I can’t help but think that the plastic bags are another scourge that we are inflicting upon the planet as I doubt that they are very biodegradable. 😢

On Sunday in the middle of the woods of Dacula we hashed through a few spots where plastic and glass bottles have been carried by waters to live out the rest of eternity. It was depressing to me.

I’m heading to do a taste test over in Chamblee today at 12.
Can’t remember what it was for, but it pays $50. (I think)
Something to get me out of the house today.

Tomorrow night is a gathering at Glover Park brewery for Ramaho’s 50th birthday.
    In case anyone is bored.

  6. Bonnie says:

Hello from Nally Honda in Union City. The Accord is in the the service department for the SRS light (seatbelt something, they had to order the part so the husband will be coming back tomorrow, ugh). Next, if all goes well we will be ordering a new CR-V.

Forgot to mention, a couple (few?) days ago my autofill fields on this blog are working again! 🙂

    • Yay to all of that! Well maybe not having to go back tomorrow.

I updated the comment plug-in, perhaps that fixed something?

    • Bonnie says:

      And…. No new car today. I don’t know why I even bother posting… 😂

      • Whaaaa? Couldn’t come to a financial agreement or they couldn’t give you the car you wanted?

      • Barb says:

        Oh no! Now what?

      • Bonnie says:

We were told we *can’t* custom order a car by the GM (which is what we intended to do today). I call bullshit but IDK. So, we are limited to what they can find in GA, and also what’s in the queue to be manufactured and shipped to them. So, to get the exact configuration that the husband wants, we have to sit back and wait and see if the factory chooses to put out that configuration, and if so, when. There’s no guarantee or timeline because of COVID-related issues. For example the factory is scheduled to start building two (two!) CR-Vs for this dealership within the next 2 weeks, neither is what he wants. So, we just decided to go home so he can further think on if he wants to try and hold out for what he wants, or reevaluate and compromise some. It’s not a huge rush as we currently have two working vehicles, but the clock is ticking, especially on the Cavalier.

        • Barb says:

What about the other Honda dealerships?
Whee we n we were getting my car, they searched the whole SE to find what I wanted.

  7. Slight alterations to my morning agenda. Clothes are done, packaged has been dropped off at FedEx, Now I am sitting in WLF (fully mosquito sprayed) eating a bagel with cream cheese and coffee from Emerald City. It is beautiful outside today.

  8. Steve says:

I’m all about live and let live, but when a rattlesnake is crossing the driveway, while I have horses in hand, something has got to give. By the time I secured the horses and found an implement of destruction, he had turned tail and ran. sononvabtch.

      • Steve says:

Exactly. He saw the parade that was about to step on him and was already in a defensive posture. Phinney was already in the grass, so I just threw his lead on his back and he walked on. Daisy was still in hand and we went the long way. Tanner was loping along behind, smelling the flowers and went the long way as well.

  9. Made a trip to Aldi and made 50¢ by returning two carts from the parking lot. I’m only $49.50 away from earning what Barb did today! 😂

    • Barb says:

It was $45 to taste 2 sausages. They were very similar, and actually pretty tasty.
And, I need to go back to Chamblee & wander, it’s gotten quite fancy since I moved out of my apartment in about 2000.

  10. Okay, this is funny and frustrating. In July I ordered something from IKEA that was supposed to be delivered to a FedEx location by August 24. I just received an email from IKEA telling me that my order is ready to be picked up — at the same FedEx Office from which I shipped my box this morning. 🤦🏻‍♂️

  11. Wow, I never expected Georgia to be one of the first…

Eight states will roll out a feature allowing users to add driver’s license and state IDs to Apple Wallet for iPhone and Apple Watch to use at security at participating airports, Apple announced Wednesday.

Arizona and Georgia are the first states to adopt the feature and Connecticut, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Oklahoma and Utah will follow, though the company did not specify a timeline.

    • Barb says:

      That’s pretty cool.
I’ll be flying to Iowa again on 10/1, we will see if it’s in effect by then.

  12. Hours of choring done. Showered and found a tick (I think) on my chest. Fucking Nature sucks!
