Here I go again. If you are reading this prior to noon on Friday then I am (hopefully) happily motoring toward Raleigh for a few days of visiting the Raleigh Royalty. It was my decision to get away, and let WLF do whatever it’s going to do without any rain the next few days. I won’t be surprised if I return to a sad little plot of land in a few days, though losing my seedlings might suck.

Bonnie, if you want to swing by and pick any of the peppers, eggplant, or green beans that are ready to be picked, then have at it! Sorry that I have already scavenged all of the ripe tomatoes, to be fair there weren’t many.

Yesterday afternoon, after my IKEA pickup and assembly fiasco I was inspired by Barb to go out and mow the front lawn of the ITP Estate before spending a little time in WLF. I probably should have spent more time taking care of matters in WLF, but didn’t a plan nor motivation to do so. I did give it all a good soaking, however.

Last night I fell asleep early while reading a book after eating dinner, and therefore was awake past midnight again after waking up. I watched a documentary called “Farmland” on Amazon Prime Video before turning in to attempt to go back to sleep.

I also watched the second episode of “Only Murders in the Apartment”. Apparently the first three episodes are available on Hulu, with next no released weekly on Tuesdays.

I mentioned that starting next week I will be attempting to relearn iOS development techniques as well as reduce my spending. Additionally I also want to attempt to get my weight back down under 180 pounds.

Hope that you have a very happy and healthy long Labor Day weekend (I’ll make the assumption that the limited ITP readership all live in the USA).

Last night the husband and I drove way out east to watch the Gwinnett Stripers play our old Memphis Redbirds. Donned in our old jerseys, it was fun and the weather was awesome. Today we might go test drive a Subaru Forester. Or we might not. 🤣 Tomorrow night is a college football watch party. Monday-Tuesday we reserved our first yurt at Cloudland Canyon. The husband gets to shower! 😉

I’m doing an impromptu loop down through Charleston, Hilton Head, and Savannah with my kids. I much prefer trips that don’t involve retracing my steps when I can pull it off. This will be my first time in Hilton Head, and I have a sunset dolphin cruise booked. I’ve been jonesing to go to Savannah to walk the squares for a while now. We’ll hit Isle of Palms and Tybee Island as well. I lived in Charleston for a couple of years in the 80s when I was in the Navy. It was such a shithole then, its transformation since then has been stunning. This is not the kind of trip I can ever do with my wife, but my kids eat it up. Their school gives them the day off on Jewish Holidays, so they have a 4 day weekend.

Lurker, that sound like a great trip.

My vertigo hit last night and I’m still suffering this morning. I want to go dust off the scooter and just might. Nothing else is planned this weekend, though there is a hunt and breakfast on Monday.

My friend Don has finally made it to Shepard. Fitted for a wheelchair, having to dress and feed himself. They ain’t playing- getting him ready to go home.

Our best to the Raleigh Royalty.

  4. In Raleigh. On 40 East a small rock hit the windshield and put the tiniest chip into it. Fuck Mazda’s shitty windshields! And of course I have already stuck my PeachPass on the inside of the windshield, so I better not have to replace one again.

Other than that, it was a decent trip up.

Went for a 5 mile hike with Davey this morning, down by the hooch at Paces mill.
Last night’s hasher gathering at Glover Park had a great turnout. Was kind of shocked how many ITPers made the roadtrip to Marietta. I guess people needed to get out.

Tomorrow’s walkabout is out in NW Cobb, (Allatoona Creek) but there’s a brewery nearby called Bucking Goat – so added incentive to head way out into the burbs. Allan & I will Mtn bike instead of hike, we need to dust off the bikes.
