Oh Florida… Last night I watched the opening game of the NFL season. The game was in Tampa, had an estimated 66,000 people in the stadium, and very few other them seemed to be wearing a mask. At least the game was outdoors? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Fun fact: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have won two NFL championships, but they only need two digits to represent them for they won in 2002 an 2020.

Yesterday was a really good day for me, with the only setbacks being not getting something for which I stopped at two Aldi stores to buy, and overcooking my pasta dinner.

As you know, I took the M6 down to Morrow to get some routine maintenance done. That went to plan with no unexpected expenses. After the dealership I drove to an Aldi down there looking for a camping table I had seen in their weekly ad email. No dice. I then drove to the Aldi down on Moreland, no dice there either.

After returning home I changed into choring clothes and headed into WLF. I spent a good two hours working with Wee Little Chainsaw, cutting up the felled pine tree and pushing large sections to the side of the yard. I have one thick, nearly nine-foot long section to deal with soon; the stump is going to have to stay there for awhile.

Two hours of tree work exhaust per me, so I switched to light maintenance, taking out tomato plants affected with blight, deadheading flowers, etc. My only mistake there was killing part of a butternut squash plant by cutting it instead of the dead leaf I was intending to prune. Oops!

After Bonnie dropped by to give me the box of books that were delivered over the weekend, I puttered around for about another hour before calling it quits for the day.

By the time you read this I have probably already returned from Lowe’s, where I spent my $25 gift card on compost.

Today is more of the same when it comes to my activities, mainly I will be working in WLF. I doubt that I will do any work on the pine tree, instead I plan to do some sowing, transplanting, pruning, and general cleanup.

Tonight I hope to cook a veggie burger for dinner, perhaps outdoors on the grill, or perhaps in the house.

Tomorrow will be a walking day with Betsy and Bella followed by more choring around the house.

Sunday is a Black Sheep day!

Hope you have a fun weekend planned, taking advantage of the fall-like weather.

Currently, the door is propped open and I might be a little chilled… how about that!

After a semi-frustrating day of work, I hitched up Debbie’s truck so she could take Ceili over for a lesson, then rode the CX bike for 17. When I replaced the T-Mobile, the wifi in the mancave was still down. I was pleased to see it finally recovered and was working when I got home yesterday. It’s handy to have out there, as my radio reception is piss poor there.

Dinner tonight in downtown Lagrange. At the race 2 weeks ago, I noticed lots of cute little places and I thought it would be nice to support them. Tomorrow needs to be a bike ride, then Sunday is a trail maintenance day. I guess I need to do a little PM on the bush hog beforehand.

    Have a great weekend!

Is the camping table for you, or for someone we know who may be looking for a camping table? Huh, I wonder if I could use one? 😂

Yesterday my girlfriend came over and the three of us hung out at the pool until about 9pm. It got chilly out!

Providing the CR-V accessories came in, today holds another drive down to Union City’s Honda dealership. And fingers crossed, selling the Cavalier. I’m not sure the buyer can come up with the money so I have my doubts…

Tomorrow is another Oklahoma State football watch party, so we’ll be skipping the Bayern Munich watch party we planned to attend that is unfortunately at the same time. Sounds like I will miss a couple good hashes on Saturday. *Sigh*

Sunday ends the husband’s 11 days of vacation and I will go hashing. 😁

You know, if I remember the buyer was trying to stop using Uber to get to their job?? Maybe a little lease to own? You hold the title?? Could be a little charity in there as well…

      • Bonnie says:

Yeah, we’re considering something like that… We passed up on the opportunity to trade it in so we could sell it to him so we’ve already taken one step toward “charity”. The only real issue is we don’t really know this person, it’s not like it’s a friend.

    • It’s for me, for WLF patio use. I could use the one I own already, but it’s “only” $25…

NEWS FLASH: The construction area on the BeltLine Southside Trail is OPEN!!!!

  4. I finally had a candy roaster squash growing nicely and a goddamn critter nibbled on it since yesterday. 🤬

  5. Barb says:

The camping table, is it the 4’ folding table? I saw it at my Aldi yesterday, but thought…. We already have a 5’ and a 6’ one…. I don’t need another.

Basement is put back to normal, dehumidifier is still working away, I’m sure we will have that running for a while.

Going to yoga at the Y in a little while, should be entertaining.

  6. Lunch time! Reheating some over cooked pasta from last night.

Speaking of lunch, Barb we need to get together before you return to work!

  7. I’m worn out and can chore no more today. My afternoon session saw me use Wee Little Chipper to make a few bags or wood chips/mulch and transplant a small cabbage seedling. I was stunned to see that I sowed the cabbage seed in July and it was no larger than two inches tall. This is a recurring theme in WLF, and I need to figure out what I am doing wrong.

  8. Rats! Tried to sign up to do a cracker tasting survey on 9/21, but wasn’t eligible.

    • Just failed to qualify for a ceiling fan survey. I’m as good as qualifying for these as I am growing crops, which is to say that I am not really good at all.

      • Bonnie says:

You can’t always control it (like they already met their quota in your age bracket) but you have to answer the questions like you think they want you to answer to qualify. I’m sure you do this at least somewhat already. My account says I’m not eligible for any but probably because I have one on the books already.

      • Yeah, I have tried to answer the way they might want me to answer, but no luck yet. Perhaps there are other mid-fifties white men looking for easy money? 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

  9. Bonnie says:

The Cavalier has been sold! 😮 1 month shy of 23 years old. I’m glad we sold it to someone who really needs it. We also knocked a little more off the price.
