I spent the better part of yesterday morning finishing off the new garden bed. I started by harvesting a rather pathetic potato planting. I emptied two very large buckets and two smaller buckets to harvest two decently-sized red potatoes and a few handfuls of small red and white ones. My harvest is enough for three meals, one of which has already been eaten. The compost from the potato buckets went into the bottom of the new bed. I then proceeded to fill up the bed with a mixture of local red clay (the majority of the soil at the ITP Estate), manure, and compost. The job is not perfect, but it’s good enough. I had been planning to let this new bed sit all winter, but why waste this new creation, right? We’ll see… This really is not the best time to be starting new plantings.

After my choring I took a drive up to Sandy Springs for my fake meat sausage patty tasting. I tasted three patties and gave my opinions, now I await the email with my compensation.

I was going to buy my Christmas present yesterday, a set of HomePod Mini speakers for my office, but the ones I wanted were not in stock at any local Apple Store. My drive home turned out to be a little more eventful than desired as I unknowingly drove right toward the ammonia leak at the Swan’s pie plant, and was scared shitless by the alert that my iPhone blasted as I drove.

I rallied myself to attend the Moonlight hash. The best thing I can say about it is that I got an extra four miles of walking/jogging in last night. Going to the hash made for a long night out, so I passed out in by shortly after arriving home at 11:00pm.

Today I have to keep reminding myself that I have an appointment to get my booster at a Walgreens near Decatur at 10:00am. I am hoping that Walgreens is organized, that I am in and out, and that I feel well enough to do a little shopping at Aldi before returning home.

Speaking of shopping, yesterday I went into a Lidl (Briarcliff at North Druid Hills) for the first time! This Lidl is in the space that once housed a Fresh Market, and before that was the discount clothing store for which the shopping center was once named. I was rather impressed and see myself frequenting Aldi and Lidl when the Lidl is completed on Memory Drive near East Lake.

I think I will take it easy after my booster and grant myself a day of rest, reading, and who knows, maybe even some coding.

Hope you are remaining happy and healthy.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 187.0 pounds (-1.4 from last week’s weigh-in); given how much I have been choring and jogging I was hoping for a better result, but I will take it.

Today holds several errands, more chores then the Botanical Garden lights this evening. Tonight is the last “value night” (which is still not a “value”). 😁

Paulie, we need to get to some beer drinking!

*Fist bump* on the weight loss Paulie. Take it.

Those fake sausages were much better then I expected.
I’d guess we get paid by the end of the week.
I like Lidl too, there isn’t one nearby, but I’ve been to the one on Roswell Rd a few times.

  4. Back from my booster. Was able to stop at Aldi on the way home to treat myself to a frozen pizza for lunch. Feeling dilly, but it’s still early.

Got a bunch of ppwk to look over for the new job. I’m very curious about the non compete verbiage. Got a message out to my new boss….

    • David says:

Oh non-competes are so bogus. 🤬🤬🤬 Georgia is an at-will employment state, meaning employers have the right to cut you loose for any reason, but this company wants to hamstring you if they do and limit your options on the back-end. 👎👎 Everything is negotiable if they want you bad enough. It’s most likely boilerplate language that they leave in for the unsuspecting. 🤓

      • Barb says:

My new boss said he questioned that verbiage as well. It isn’t enforceable in GA for the most part, and the company wouldn’t pursue it anyway for a little worker bee like me. I’m going to sign it.

  6. Survey compensation has arrived. 😁

My sausage applied to Amazon, and already spent. (Fire coffee table for the deck purchased)
Also went & ordered Allan a new (android) phone at Verizon. Didn’t have it in stock, so it should be here in a couple days. Then we get to play the fun activation game.

    • Barb says:

Sausage money – forgot a word above.
