Whew, I am tired and worn out. If I don’t weigh in this week and show a loss, it’s my own damn fault for eating too much food and drinking too much beer this past week.

Most of the WLF choring that has occurred over the past three days has involved digging. On Friday I started digging out the area into which I will place a new raised bed. While this sounds contradictory, the digging is to level a 4’x8′ section in a sloped part of the farm. After encountering few roots, but unexpectedly unearthing some reasonably sized rocks, I was able to set the bed in place yesterday. Today I will fill it with leaves and compost and let it settle over winter… unless I become impatient and drop some lettuce seedlings into it soon.

Saturday also saw me walk with Betsy and Bella in the morning, and then go to the Pine Lake hash. It was a fun day, finished off with a lovely meal at Dakota Blue.

After finishing my morning choring yesterday I joined Bonnie for a trip up to Suwannee for my 190th Black Sheep hash. Trail was great, though I was taunted by some discarded garden pots on more than one occasion… After trail a group of us went to Monkey Wrench brewing, and then to Taco Mac for dinner.

Today could turn out to be a busy one for me. I want to do some WLF choring in an hour or so, and then need to clean up so that I can drive to Sandy Springs for my paid survey. Forgetting about my appointment, I also volunteered to help lay tonight’s Moonlite trail, if needed, since the hare hurt himself during yesterday’s Black Sheep. We’ll see, hopefully I will be spared.

Hope your weekend was fun and healthy.

Indeed a fun weekend. 😁 Chores today before Moonlight. Hope the rain clears out in time. I think that’s all I got.

  2. Barb says:

What time is your survey at Jackson? I’ve got 11am.

With Debbie in Asheville, I was left to amuse myself most of the weekend. A nice 25 mile ride on the CX bike Saturday, connecting some different rides together. I discovered a house with 4 or 5 dogs, but the designated chase dog was only interested for a short while. Watched a motivated Alabama wrangle a slightly disorganized UGA. I said to an Alabama friend early last week (and perhaps in this space) that Alabama’s near loss to Auburn was much better prep than UGA easy walkover GT. And I stand by that.

woke up with the vertigo Sunday, but pushed through to get out on the scooter for some breakfast and errands. I keep looking at that big dead oak tree and want to tackle it. I bought a pulley and clip to setup a pulling line so it goes in the right direction. Anyone need good oak firewood?

    • Barb says:

We’ve got so much firewood already.
Mango has a splitter. We gave him a lot of our wood for use of the splitter.
It was a good trade, as he helped with the splitting.
If the tree can fall without hitting anything, why not go for it?

    • I’m well stocked on wood, albeit perhaps not the greatest to burn, but it will work.

    • Bob says:

Hey Steve, have chainsaw and will travel for some firewood. Happy to help you take down that tree.

  4. Steve says:

And Bonnie, sorry about the OSU loss. When did Baylor get a team?

  5. Barb says:

Lunch date that are open (if Allan is invited)
    This week, tomorrow or Wednesday.
    Next week, Tuesday or Thursday.
Or, almost any day for me.

  6. Steve says:

I’ll be in the orifice all next week and on PTO the week after that. Plan accordingly.

  7. Sitting in my car, and it’s pouring rain. WTF?

Also, waited too long to schedule an eye exam appointment, so now I will go in January.

  8. Steve says:

It’s raining felines and canines around here at the moment, but I don’t think it will last but a couple hours. Driving to Birmingham in the morning, so please be done, TYVM.
