Morning all. It’s Wednesday, right? I have been so busy this week that I can’t recall the day.oh wait, day and date are right there on the iPad. Whew.

Yesterday I did some more WLF choring in the morning, the biggest chore knocked out was feeding a stack of branches through Wee Little Chipper. I then placed an online order at the Chamblee Lowe’s, knowing I had to go to Dunwoody later in the afternoon. I looked at traffic and what did I see, fairly good road conditions at about 2pm, so I darted out of the house.

I was at Lowe’s for all of five minutes as my order was brought out to me. From there I drove near Perimeter Mall and consumed my time by walking around looking that the continued changes to the old work neighborhood, foraging for receipts, and reading a book.

Yesterday’s survey session required taking the memory tests, drinking a solution, waiting an hour, and then retaking the memory tests. During the hour wait we were to sit quietly, so I did a little survey searching on my iPhone and read the more of the book I brought along with me. Good times.

I considered eating dinner at Tin Drum, or Taco Mac, or HobNob after my survey, but upon seeing a chance to get home in a reasonable amount of time by taking 285 East, I aggressively drove toward my destination and was home in good time.

What did I do that was so urgent to get home? Eat dinner and watch tv, of course. And then I was in bed no later than 9:30pm…

Today? I have more WLF choring to do. I must ensure that WLF is battened down for the predicted wind and rain that is to pass through tonight.

And speaking of tonight, I am taking another turn cooking for the Wednesday Night Dinner and TV Gathering at Betsy’s. At this time I am uncertain what I will be preparing, or what we will be watching.

Hope that all is battened down in your world and that your are happy.

I solved today’s Wordle in TWO attempts; my starter today was SPORT

I had 4 letters in the correct Wordle spot in 2 but it took 5 guesses to get there. I redeemed myself by doing the NYT Mini puzzle in 29 seconds.

My next X-ray visit got moved up to Monday so I can see what’s going on with my arm. I feel like I have one good arm and one T Rex arm. Waiting out hernia surgery on the 15th. I’m starting to feel like my turn in the barrel is coming to end. Woe be unto whomever’s turn is next, that’s for sure.

My temporary separation from my wife ends next week as well. I’m almost halfway through writing one of the books I’m under contract for, and starting the second. All on top of my “regular”’work. Oh and my physically and emotionally abusive parents have crept back in my life and been up to their usual bullshit. I called them out on several direct lies, one of which I debunked with medical records, and closed with “The two of you and I have nothing else to talk about.”

The cool thing? All of this stuff is fine. And as the infomercials say, “But wait, there’s more…” Regardless, in the past my head would be absolutely about to explode. Current times? Eh, just a day in the life.

    • Continued health improvements to you. I get a physical next month, so I hope that none of my issues have gotten worse…

      Impressive work on the books!

      Good luck with everything else.

Thanks, Paulie. Fingers crossed on your physical. I heard a great quote from Frank Bruni recently, “Human bodies are ticking time bombs all set to go off at different times.” TRUTH!

      Thanks for he update. *Hugs*

Getting rid of toxic things in your life is always good work.

      • David says:

Indeed. It’s not always easy, but it is absolutely necessary. They can’t say I haven’t given them a fair shake, that’s for sure.

    • Barb says:

      That’s quite an update David.
Hope the arm (& hernia) get all better soon.

I don’t think I can ever think fast enough to do that mini puzzle so fast.
But I like the mini puzzles – I just ordered a book of them for my parents -I hope they can still do them. If not, my brother will like it.

      • David says:

Thanks, Barb. I think you’ll find that the more puzzles you do, the faster you can get. I’ve completed 1,388 of the full size NYT crosswords at this point, and I started in December 2019. Crosswords definitely helped me maintain a semblance of sanity during the height of the pandemic.

My arm is slowly getting better, one measure is I don’t have to take ibuprofen as often. I’m still a long ways off from having full use of it again, though, I can tell that for sure. I expect the hernia recovery to go much faster than my arm. My main limitation will be to not be able to lift anything more than 15 pounds for six weeks. That keeps me from getting drafted to help out with lugging soil and compost at Wee Little Farm. 😉

A mutual friend of ours who I shall not directly out decided to play hooky yesterday afternoon so we checked off another hike for my 2022 52-hike challenge, this time at CRNRA Bowman’s Island. Then we went on to trivia and were joined by ACF, where we took first place. Okay, there were only 3 teams there this time but whatever…

Guys, I’m tentatively in for Tasty China, but I’m a little worried my allergies may be turning into something else? I’ll keep you posted.

  4. Steve says:

Well, my whole department is in the bank today and it’s already driving me crazy!! As Debbie says- too people-y!

A pretty quiet night last night. It was so smoky driving home and last night- I was sitting in the hot tub about 9:30 and a prop plane went over the house. I think he left his landing lights on, but you could see the headlights shining in front of him!

I think I can find things to do in the computer room and stay away from all these people!

Its a Dobbins Air training day today I guess. Lots of very loud flyovers.
Let’s hope it isn’t that way tomorrow evening – or conversation will be a challenge.

  6. Steve says:

Wordle in 2 also. My starting word was COAST

  7. Barb says:

I’m horrible at the mini – took me just over 4 minutes. But- I don’t really concentrate – and read emails on the other screen at the same time

  8. Wow, while breezy it is certainly warmer out there than I expected it to be today.
