I relaxed a lot and ate poorly yesterday.

Even though it now brings me tinges of sadness, I like seeing fireflies this time of year.

WLF can’t handle many more storms like the ones that passed through the last two nights.

I solved today’s Wordle in on my last attempt; my starter today was RELAY

  1. NYT Mini Crossword in 1:05. A lot of poor typing by me, and since it took me six to get the Wordle perhaps I am not in top mental form today. Spoiler Alert: I am not, but you probably knew that from the tenseness of today’s post.

Wordle in 5, Mini in far too long when you start with the wrong first word!

I don’t know how much rain we got last night, but it was a goodly amount. Glad to see George is unbothered by storms. Brownie didn’t like them- he would simply snuggle close when they happened. We’ve not had a dog that freaks- well, Izzie barks at thunder, but now she’s mostly deaf (like her dad) and can’t hear them so well.

George almost has the door trick down. I thought he had it this morning, but instead sat down and barked. I would have worked with him, but didn’t want him to wake Debbie.

Plans coming together for Rally day 1- breakfast with Sleazy Rider (Terri) in my old neighborhood in Birmingham. Both odd and cool to see it as the trendy, hip part of town.

    Vacation starts at 3:30!

Yesterday’s Wordle in 3 using CLUNG. Mini in 1:07, I’ll take it.

Was supposed to have jury duty today but when I called last night they said I didn’t have to report. I can’t usually work from home but since my boss is out of the country I am taking the opportunity today! Woohoo!

Wordle in 5 because as ofte I had 4 letters in the correct places on the third try and required two more attempts to figure out the first letter. I started with IRONY, which is appropriate. Third time is the charm and all that. Mini in 40 seconds, I’m not hip enough to have known today’s Heardle.

I might just get on my bike for a minute and toodle around in the park and see how it feels.

  5. In from puttering around WLF. A whole lot of mosquitoes out there today. Planted some squash seedlings which may never bear fruit, but hopefully they will grow large enough to create some ground cover.

After much deliberation I killed the largest slug I have seen in WLF; it was about 3” long. Fun fact, the literal translation of the German word for “slug” is “naked snail”.

  6. Debbie says:

Wordle in 6 starting with AISLE. I tried the t in every spot but the right one.

Taking Ollie and George to the vet this morning. I’m going to have my hands full wrangling them in the same car.

Into the office this afternoon and tomorrow, and then in class all next week. That’s a lot of days of being presentable! Celebratory dinner tonight for the launch of my project. Yay, woohoo, let’s just be done already.

Hope your ride feels ok David!

Feeling you on the storms and the garden Paul. Mine looked okay this morning, but I was worried when I heard it pouring buckets overnight.

Thanks, Debbie! And congrats on getting your project out the door and into the world! Yay!

Looking at the weather forecast for camping next weekend. Daily highs in the 90’s. Rethinking a down sleeping bag! Call me crazy…

What are you using at BRAG?

  8. On the upper Westside Warby Parker picking up my new specs and sunglasses. Was hoping to hit Monday Night (original) for a beer, but most of the breweries up this way don’t open until later in the afternoon. I hate still associating certain places with my better days…

  9. Jenka says:

I did Wordle early today because I’m at home. Got it in 3 using TRIAL. I had all the letters in the second try, just all out of place!
