Hopefully doing my final reccy for Sunday’s Black Sheep trail today.

On a positive note, my Duolingo streak has now reached two hundred days, kept alive with a couple of mulligans for various reasons.

I solved today’s Wordle in five attempts; my starter today was BLUNT

  1. NYT Mini Crossword in 33 seconds.

Heardle in the first second. Took a stab and was pleased that I was correct.

    • Barb says:

took me 2 seconds on Heardle, 70s – nope, 80s, knew it but didn’t know it – did they know we discussed Hall & Oates yeterday? 90 & 00s – nope.

Mini in 1:40 – not bad since I was super guessing on a couple of the answers.

Wordle in 3, using Paulie’s start word, that just shocked me!

  2. Was happy to harvest one yellow squash. Was far less happy to find small worm holes in it. If it’s not one thing, it’s something else. Ugh.

  3. David says:

Two letters in the right place in 1, three letters in the right place in 2, and yet I needed all 6 chances to figure out the damn Wordle. Maybe I shouldn’t work them at midnight when they drop.

Heardle in 1 second. It was tricky, but the song has a pretty distinctive start.

Flailed around for a bit on the Mini, 1:10.

  4. Steve says:

    Wordle in 4.

Stopped and picked up my schwag from EM and Head Nurse on the way home. Got the tour of their new camper- or at least a shell on wheels Barry is tricking out with various parts and pieces. Just a bit primitive for us, but I’m sure it will eventually have all the comforts of home.

15 miles, then a mile walk with Debbie. We have begun a diet of sorts and included exercise as well. We shall see how long this lasts.

The new bed will be delivered this afternoon and I won’t miss the old mattress one bit.

  5. David says:

By the way, the auto shop next on Memorial next to Home Grown is not long for this world, it’s soon to be transformed into yet another apartment building. Home Grown is reportedly safe…for now.

  6. Jenka says:

Yesterday’s Wordle took me all 6 tries, and it should NOT have been that hard! Fuck that.

Heardle is a complete waste to me. I pretty much can’t tell what song anything is until the words start, and I certainly have no idea what any song is named or which band sang it.

Tonight we will watch the very last episode of The Amazing Race. This last season has been exciting! I definitely know who I want to win.

    • Barb says:

Heardle is very hard for me – I’m like you, I rarely know the title, or artist, and even more rarely both. But – I feel like maybe this will help me get better at it.

  7. Debbie says:

Wordle in four starting with GOURD. Should have had it three, but I made it more difficult than it needed to be.

So excited for the new mattress! I didn’t wake up with a headache a single day while I was gone, but they started right back up the minute I got back in our bed. My shoulders and neck are always jacked up.

I need to start doing the mini. I do a crossword app on my phone most days, but I can’t report that! 😉

    • David says:

Debbie, I’ll be this isn’t new to you, but it was to me: https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/what-is-horse-bread It also works as a “clean” swearword, “Oh, horsebread”.

      • Steve says:

        It sounds delicious…

        • David says:

Watch out, you might end up with some baking on your never ending to do list… 😉 You should be saying “What a bogus concept, who would ever do that, that’s so ridiculous…” 😉 😉 😉

      • Debbie says:

That is new to me! I have often wondered how they kept true working horses fed when they didn’t have time to let them graze. I never thought of bread, but it makes sense. I’d often share my sandwich with my horse growing up, they love it.

        Thanks for sharing!

        • David says:

Well, cool! I’m glad I shared it. I like horses, but only from afar. I worked on a horse farm when I was 15 and there was a particular horse that would stomp on my foot any time I let my guard down.

  8. Oh hi!

Been reccying, drinking, swimming, and now about to eat a piece of cheesecake. Decent day, if I do say so.
