Failed to get into two paid surveys last night. I thought that I was getting into both. Frustrating. That money could have paid for my hotel room for the wedding.

I solved today’s Wordle in on my last attempt; my starter today was TOWEL

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 186.8 pounds (0.0 from last week’s weigh-in); surprising given all of the depression eating/drinking I’ve done this past week.

  1. NYT Mini Crossword in 60 seconds. First across answer tripped me up.

    Heardle fail.

  2. David says:

I had the last 4 letters in the correct laces in 2 today, and then so began my typical letter roulette. All 5 letters were placed in 4 tries starting with CRANE. Mostly fails across the board on Heardle. Mini in 43 seconds.

I’m feeling the need to ride my bike, but can’t due to too much to do, so I’m gonna get at it, so that hopefully I can resume riding again in the near future.

Wordle in 5 and I was surprised I did that well.

A ride was prevented yesterday by the impending rain and thunder. Fortunately, I relieved Debbie in proctoring the horses for the farrier and the weather developed, otherwise I’d have been getting soaked in it. Once it passed, I attempted a run. There was a lot of walking to be considered a run, but I’ll take it.

One of my Games BoD folks had told me he had a BMW scooter to sell. At the party Saturday, I reminded him and he sent me the specs. 1962 in beautiful condition – this will go for a major chunk of change! Maybe I’ll get a nice bottle of whisky out of it.

Games meeting tonight. Then in 2 weeks, then weekly. It’s starting to get close.

    • I helped Joe/F*ckeye reccy for his September Wheelhopper last night. We rode around the area in which I cohared a Pinelake hash back in January. I was certain we would get struck by lightning, or at least soaked, but we never go rained upon.

    • Barb says:

Steve -did you see Eggtoberfest moved out to Lawrenceville – at the baseball stadium area? Its the weekend we are going to Iowa, so we can’t go this year.

I wondered what happened to change the location? Is Stone Mtn getting more difficult (& expensive?) Or, did they just decide a change is good?

      • Steve says:

Thats news to us. That parking lot is actually a busy place. The movie shoots have been locking it up. We have had a couple of days we wanted to go out to work on the trailers and couldn’t.

  4. Taking a break from WLF maintenance. Was going to clean out a bed until I saw a nice spider in it. There will be time later in the year. Picked a bunch of shishito peppers, a few small cucumbers, one lager cucumber with a caterpillar/worm, and a few okra pods. You must harvest okra often otherwise the pods become too fibrous.

After lunch it will be bike and bike accessories maintenance. I threw a shoe (lost a clip bolt and turned the clip trying to get my foot off the pedal) last night, and need to clean my road bike and work on the rear brake before tonight’s ride.

    Okay, time to sweat again.

  5. Barb says:

    hi everyone!
Yesterday was a crazy one for work, reminded me of the old days at Matson. I’m covering for a guy who is out on vacation, and his freight was just being difficult – as was some of my usual customers. It took way too much time & effort yesterday.
Today is a little more under control – so far.

Monday night hash was in the ‘hood, but I just wasn’t in the mood to drink (& socialize). We walked over to Sally’s to get her mail, and walking just under 3 miles was PLENTY with the humidity. It had rained like hell a hour or 2 earlier, so I had wondered about hour the hares would do with their marks for trail.

    • Bob says:

My job has been circling the toilet since the new senior leadership took over. It used to be fun to work here, now it is just a paycheck.
I had a conversation with an old boss last night. Who knows, may be time to make a change.

      • Barb says:

When a job gets to worky – that’s no fun.
I just had freight that was being difficult, then sales people I don’t know, so they were being difficult. Once I learn the personalities of the sales people, it is so much easier. Transportation & supply chain just doesn’t work smooth at all anymore. As long as you know that, and the customers know that, its just a lot of going in circles – but that’s just the way the game is played anymore.
Self driving trucks will truly make this industry so much better some day. (take the whiny drivers out of the equation)

  6. Steve says:

Bob, keep us in mind. Lots of InfoSec things happening around here.

  7. Just happened upon a small tree frog happily sitting in the piddle of a zinnia leaf. I love it when WLF makes me smile instead of frown.

    • In from WLF, farming choring done for the day. I walked around for 3.5 hours, not strenuous labor, but every wee little bit helps. Three ant bites today, I think all by the same MF ant, which died in its effort to attack me.

  8. Debbie says:

Wordle in 6 starting with AROSE. Mini in 1:20.

Packing for a work trip to Nashville. First time I’ve done a convention and trade show with this group so not sure what to expect. At least I can easily overpack since I’m driving.

All of my tomatoes are splitting. The only plant that is still producing good fruit is my least favorite taste-wise. It’s prolific as all get out so I’ve got try find some use for them. I’m not sure I’ll do the tomato thing again next year. There are enough farm stands around that make getting good tomatoes much easier than growing my own.

Getting lots of interest in the horse I have for sale. Fingers crossed for a quick, simple sale. Dealing with horse shoppers is very annoying so the less I have to do it the better.

    • Bummer about the maters.

Good luck with the trade show and horse sale.

    • Barb says:

Debbie – makes some tomato sauce.
Last year at my parents house they had TONS of cherry tomatoes. I just threw them into a blender with a little garlic. Worked great for spaghetti & lasagna.

good luck on the horse getting sold.

  9. Well shit, not only did I lose a cleat bolt in one of my mountain bike shoes last night, I just discovered that I have a leak in my rear tire as well now. This is not surprising given the crap I rode over last night.
