I considered driving to Charlotte today to see the band whose Atlanta concert I skipped last Thursday night. However, after being away for days I am feeling the need to stay at home for a couple of days and do some purging/reorganization/cleanup.

I solved today’s Wordle in four attempts; my starter today was GIANT

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 183.2 pounds (-3.6 from last week’s weigh-in); I even weighed myself twice. File Under: “Anomaly”

  1. NYT Mini Crossword in 34 seconds.

    Heardle in two seconds.

Took me 6 tries using Wordle. Nice job on the weight loss. The senior dog I am sitting is going home today. Lucky me I get a crown today. $$$$$$$$. Hoping Allan can fix my bike issues. Not a lot to talk about yet this morning. Nice rain showers last night but now the grass is wet and I need to mow it this morning.

I meant it took me 6 tries using Giant. DOH

    • Thanks, Sal. If I can “keep it off” until next Tuesday that will be a good thing because next week I think I am going to buy a suit to wear to the wedding in September.

You know Allan is a miracle worker, and will be able to fix it for as long as you don’t want to sell it to me dirt cheap for parts. 🙂

Rained here late, another unforecasted rain, as well.

Wordle in 4, Mini in just over a minute, so I know you speedsters will have a field day.

George and I went for a “run” last night… he was able to hold my pace at the start, but faded towards the end. Considering it was his first time, he did very well. We will both get into shape- eventually.

In the office and have to give a “Networking 101” presentation to a group from Richmond Facilities. Apparently, our Facilities folks have set a standard the system will use as they automate all the buildings. yippee.

Were we talking about Baton Bob here on the blog, or some other social media? I checked with law enforcement and they said they hadn’t seen him in some time.

    • To the best of my knowledge we were not talking about Baton Bob here, or perhaps we were because he popped into my mind over the weekend for some unknown reason.

    • David says:

I haven’t heard about Baton Bob in years now. Those were the days.

Wordle in 4 starting with PARTY. No Word roulette today.

Mini in 34 seconds. Heardle, Heardle 70s and both of the 80s in one second. I need to get today’s Heardle band back into my rotation, particularly that album.

      • Barb says:

Mini is 45 seconds, I’m slowly learning how to play this game – move on to the next clue. The across ones made me think, so went to the downs & I just knew them!!!

  4. Did a quickish Publix run to buy things that go off BOGO today, about to suit up and do a little outdoor cleanup before returning indoors to do the same.

Hoping to be able to ride tonight’s Meltons ride, but that is dependent on the arrival of packages from Jeff’s General Store (aka Amazon).

    • In from WLF, just didn’t have to drive today. I pulled a few dead squash plants, cut back a lot of dead limbs/leaves from cucumber, tomato, and eggplant plants which don’t have all that much longer to exist.

  5. Barb says:

Heardle – sounded familiar, but as usual, can’t name the title or artist.
    70s- fail, 80s #1 – 1 sec – I know my pop music, other 80th – knew the band, but no title.
I’ll do mini & wordle a little later when I’m more awake.

Baton Bob discussion was on FB – Melissa Nelson post.

  6. Barb says:

got Wordle in 3 – really lucky 2nd word after using Paulie’s word GIANT.

  7. Debbie says:

Wordle in 3 starting with AISLE. Mini in :57. Couldn’t type today.

I got nailed by wasps yesterday and the sting on my ankle kept me up some last night. It’s pretty swollen this morning. He got me but good. The two on my arms are now very itchy. Those suckers HURT when they bite.

Feeling poorly. Tested negative, but several of the folks I was with last week have tested positive, sooooooo…. UGH.

I had taken advantage of a first visit special for a local chiropractic clinic. X-rays last week and consultation and adjustment yesterday. The sales pitch was very cultish. And the recommended treatment plan was nearly $6,000 for the year – prepaid for the deepest discount don’t you know. I’ll pass.

    • Barb says:

Allan is feeling a little better, but still tested positive this morning.
I haven’t tested since Sunday, but I still feel fine. Feel like I’m just wasting all these tests.

    • Sorry for the stings, and the feeling poorly. Imagine a *finger’s crossed* emoji here.

I have always been leery of the chiropractic world, even when I saw one briefly after my bike wreck in 2011.

      • Steve says:

I used to see one after the Games every year and she helped out pretty well. She had a great sign on her reception desk- The 5 scariest words- Maybe it will go away.

Late breaking news- Ceili is coming back home. Apparently too twitchy for the rider. NEXT!!

  8. Barb says:

Remember my avocado fun at Publix last week? Well, this week I was buying 5 items, so I still could remember that the sign said – 2 for $4. And, this time it rang up as 2 for $3! (just the opposite of last week). I did NOT tell them I owed them another $1.
