On my ramble ride yesterday I rode past the now-former office of Big Nerd Ranch. BNR is another Atlanta company that passed on my services, which is more of a shame because I discovered that their office is now located within walking distance of the ITP Estate.

Had a fun evening at Midway Pub with others who ponied up for their Go Fund Me back in 2020. Midway Pub provided some food and an open bar from 7:00-9:00 for us.

I solved today’s Wordle in four attempts; my starter today was PLAIN

  1. NYT Mini Crossword in 33 seconds.

    Heardle fail.

  2. Ronnie AKA Bill says:

May be a good time to reapply to BNR. Only if you’re looking to go back to work.

  3. Picked a handful of okra pods to add the collection I already had, and will cook for lunch today. When I score WLF 2.0 okra will get one of the highest marks for success.

  4. Found some evil poison ivy trying to regrow from where I pulled it a few weeks back. Have attempted to kill it, from afar, by spraying it with 30% vinegar before the rain arrives. Concentrated vinegar has worked well for killing other weeds, so I am hoping it is effective on the devil’s spawn that is poison ivy.

  5. Pity that it’s going to rain this weekend. Since I am not going to the memorial for GE tomorrow, nor Black Sheep on Sunday, I was hoping to get away for a night tomorrow to set myself up for a new adventure in bike riding on Sunday.

  6. Steve says:

Got the grand tour of the future vault project spaces yesterday. The vault will be ginormous- i knew that already, but to see the space in person kinda boggles the mind.

Out for a beer with the local guys at a “World of Beer”, which I always thought was a package store- who knew they had food? We have these in Atlanta?

The hotel is.. odd. I’m in a suite, 1 bedroom, 2 full baths, full size kitchen/living room and patio. $175 a night. I guess the living room has a fold out. Would make a great ski resort floorplan.

So the spotty jersey crashed out? No Vuelta coverage, just re-reading the communique.

    Wordle in 4.

    -FP

    • Yep, the spotted jersey crashed hard and abandoned. He had accumulated so many points that all he had to do was finish and he was the KOM.

I think we had a World of Beer in midtown on Peachtree a few years ago, but it failed. Yep, I just googled and it was at Peachtree and 6th.

  7. Steve says:

Cheated on the mini with one word, but 2 minutes.

  8. Just read that many of the scheduled sporting events in England for this weekend have been postponed due to the queen’s death. They take their royalty seriously over there.

  9. David says:

Today was a massage day, and boy did I need it. Good stuff. No games today, maybe later. I’m gonna bang out this last half of a chapter and head into the weekend free of looming encumbrances. Not that that I don’t have a huge backlog to clear, but I’ll start working that on Monday. I’m taking a guilt-free weekend for the first time in a while.

  10. Debbie says:

Wordle in 5, Mini in too long.

Feels like the rain is about to start here. It’s hella humid. Did a few chores around the barn and I’m soaked.

Heading to Lowes after work to get supplies for a rainy day project. I get to play in the workshop since Steve’s away.

Having 3 horses is way less stressful than 4 and I think I’ve figured out a plan to knock one major project off the wish list. That’ll make Steve happy!! (You heard it here first, honey.)

Hope everyone has a good weekend!!

  11. I wish I had known the agony I was going to experience by randomly visiting Bremen on my first trip to Germany, and picking them as the team I would support. They are about to lose at home again…

An hour on the trainer, better than nothing.

  12. Inspired by Betsy I baked tofu like it was fish in my air fryer tonight, it was good, and with some tweaks will be really good in the future.
