wordle in 5 – using your start word.
    haven’t played it in a while……..

Mini – I had high hopes at 1st for less than a minute, but then went downhill. I did finish in under 2 minutes after I figured out my mistake.

I think I’m done with Wordle. I have enough sources of frustration in my life, and this is a self-inflicted thorn that I can remove from my side. Two correct letters today with SALET, my second guess didn’t reveal any more letters, and I have no idea what five letter word would use the letters that I know of. The thrill is gone for sure, just as Heardle was fun until it wasn’t.

If all goes as planned around this time tomorrow I’ll be sitting on an airplane that will be taking off for Costa Rica. Back on Sunday. I definitely need to get the hell out of here for a minute.

I’ll still do the daily NYT crossword and the Mini. And I like their Spelling Bee game. Wordle just makes me think harder than I want to these days, I have enough other stuff to think hard about.

Oh, and I’m glad to see the blog live on for another day.

Costa Rica sounds great – some day we will get there.
I heard on GMA (so, not necessarily the “truth”) that the Russians were messing with some airport website – there were npo problems for us yesterday.

BUT – Thursday was the busiest I’ve ever seen at the TSA Precheck & Clear Lines- took 20-25 minutes – so plan accordingly.
More than a few people in line were freaking out about missing their flights. I whispered to Allan – that’s poor planning to have it that tight. We barely had time to grab a beer & some food, and that was cutting it too close for me!

      • David says:

I like your beer and food buffer! That’s a great way to do it. I was the victim of poor planning once. My flight was delayed and Delta let me change it. I then lost track of time and looked up suddenly and saw that I was about to miss my flight. I made it from my desk at home to the airplane seat in 45 minutes flat, which included parking at the airport and getting through TSA security. I ran from security to the plane holding my shoes and my belt. I looked ludicrous but I didn’t care. They closed the plane right behind me. The gate agent complimented with a “Good hustle!” when I passed by her. Apparently she could tell when I had cleared security.

So yeah, I allow some time now.

If there isn’t time for a beer and food before boarding, then I consider us to be late. Kevin has Skyclub, so usually we go there and eat and drink for free, which means we can get there super early. Which we do. Like, a couple hours even for a domestic flight. I hate the anxiety of being late.

    • Jenka says:

See, this is why I don’t force myself to do Wordle unless I want to. I’m not sick of it, and when I do want to do it, I find joy in it. It doesn’t have to be an all or nothing thing.

      • David says:

I’ll give your approach a try. I like doing the other word games daily, but and I used to look forward to Wordle, so I’ll just give it a rest and see how that goes.

    • Barb says:

I get frustrated & use the google sometimes on Wordle – I just don’t want to think that hard some days. (it is easier on the 2 screens to cheat, on my phone I tend to try harder)

I had a glorious work from home day yesterday when I litrally never changed out of my pajamas. It’s fall break at Emory which doesn’t affect me except that my boss is out of town for a retreat. So I could quietly work away at my dining room table.

We have been watching Kevin Can Fuck Himself, which is pretty good. It’s set in Worcester, MA, which is where I’m from and, while it’s got the usual liberties that TV takes, it’s pretty true to the location.

    • Barb says:

      GOT WAY TOO BUSY –
what is this TV program? Just by the name, I think I’ll like it……..

      • Jenka says:

It’s on AMC and it stars the daughter from Schitt’s Creek (Annie Murphy), but it is a completely different role. It’s a little dark, but worth it.

  4. Spent the morning puttering around in WLF. Need to continue cutting back squash plants that I have let run wild, but want to give whatever vegetables that are on the vines a chance to mature before cold weather arrives to kill the plants next week. I also need to spread some of the compost I have to make room for said plant cuttings.

Score another squirrel death for my rain barrel, that makes two this year. Perhaps next year I will fashion a screen to keep them out.

  5. Debbie says:

Wordle in 4 starting with SALET.

I’m pretty sure my head is going to blow off this afternoon. Hopefully, the upcoming change in weather helps.
