This may sound stupid, but it’s kind of hard being vegetarian where my mother lives.
Or, it’s just that the restaurants at which we eat just don’t cater to those who choose not to eat meat? And forget about being vegan…

I solved today’s Wordle in four attempts; my starter today was VEGAN

Took me 5 and I had only 1 letter (in the wrong place) after THREE guesses! I started with SAINT. Mini in 2.

Dinner last night at our new favorite Mexican place in Haralson (due south of Senoia). Only outdoor seating- I guess they have a tiny bit of indoor. It’s basically a food truck with tables. They did put up a roof!!

What Debbie didn’t say yesterday was when they rode Sunday, it took NINETY minutes to get Roxanne’s horse Durango to load. As they have just moved, Durango thinks he still lives at Bear Creek and doesn’t want to leave his friends. It was a battle of wills and the humans won, but just barely.

We returned the armadillo trap last night… no joy and the MF is still doing damage.

PTO set so it doesn’t burn up before the end of the year. Thursday this week, week of the 14th and the week before Christmas and will still carry over the limit of 80 hours.

Wow, an 80 hour limit seems really low to me. Emory lets us bank 320 hours before we lose it. I still regularly do.

      • Bob says:

We are use or lose it here, which is why NOTHING gets done in November or December because nobody is here. It is frustrating as hell.

        • Jenka says:

I mean, nothing gets done around here as soon as finals are over. Shit, BEFORE finals are over this place is a ghost town.

  2. Hello from the rest area just south of Gainesville, FL. I’ve stopped to eat a breakfast of leftover Chinese food and to use the facilities.

Inexplicably I left my three cans of beer in my mother’s refrigerator. D’Oh!

Ready for your next visit, or just forgotten?

And don’t forget to stop at Bucee’s on the way back. May I recommend the dark chocolate Overbite bar. We now send people we know who are going past to pick some up for us.

      • Barb says:

I find the obsession with Bucee’s fascinating.
I do love a crazy oversized gas station (with clean restrooms), but it is out of control.
People driving out of their way just to stop there makes me laugh.

        • David says:

I think Bucee’s is the demon spawn of Walmart and QuikTrip, but that just means more Overbite bars will be available for everyone else. 😉

      • Bob says:

I love me some Bucees! I don’t go out of my way to stop there but when I do there is always an open gas pump and the bathrooms are always clean. Yeah it can get crowded but even with a line we always get out of there within a few minutes.
Just don’t go anywhere near there during holiday traffic, it is too crazy around then.

Only excitement I had yesterday was finding out from Delta I’m now at Platinum Medallion level. I really need to plan our next trip, we have 1 companion pass that expires at the end of January, and 1 that expires end of April. Amazing I got to Platinum with just 3 flights this year, 1 to Europe & 2 to Iowa. Guess spending way too much money on the AmEx gets me more than just frequent flier miles.

    • Jenka says:

Good for you! That’s amazing! If it means you get into the Skyclub, it’s well worth it. I wonder what their criteria are, though. I have taken 7 flights this year and my AmEx card spend was high enough by June to get me to the next level, and I am still Silver? I don’t care, it just seems so arbitrary.

      • Barb says:

I’m so confused by it – I thought wow, I spent enough to get Gold, but never, ever thought I’d get Platinum.
New HVAC plus a lot of dental expenses I guess? I have the Delta Platinum AmEx & I know it gives you bonus for certain things, but I’ve never paid attention what I did to get the extras.

  4. Jenka says:

Watched the Patriots lose last night, and we are re-watching Kim’s Convenience.

  5. David says:

Given how Republican Florida has turned, I’m not surprised at all by the lack of vegetarian options.

Wordle in 4 starting with TRIAD. No Mini yet today.

    • Barb says:

Wordle is 3, totally crazy 3rd guess & it was right.
Thought the Mini was going to be good, then it went down hill…… over 2 minutes.

  6. Bob says:

Vegetarian options are hard to find once you get out of a large city. Also depends on where you are eating, chains won’t normally go off their menu but smaller places have put dishes together for Laura at times. It’s really a crapshoot.

  7. Hello from Buc-ee’s where I just scarfed down a quite delicious vegetarian burrito! Didn’t see the ice cream suggestion until too late.

Even on a Tuesday it’s like Macy*s at Christmas in there!

  8. Back ITP, in near record time for me! I only made two stops, the rest area in Gainesville and Buc-ee’s in Warner Robins. Only one traffic slow down on I75, near Ocala, which was a welcomed miracle.
