Tomorrow marks the two year anniversary of my torn meniscus surgery. I am always nervous when any part of my knee area starts to act up the way it has over the last couple of days. There has been no traumatic pop like I had two years ago, but that doesn’t lessen my fear of needing another surgery some day when it hurts.

I solved today’s Wordle in six attempts; my starter today was LATHE

There is a bit of irony in the fact that I struggled to solve today’s Wordle. See if you can for figure out the irony. I’ll reveal the reason later this afternoon.

I may have a torn meniscus in my right knee. Epsom salt baths help knock the inflammation down. I’ve learned that managing the inflammation is key.

I went to Cirque du Soleil last night. I’d seen the show the first time it toured but the steampunk version is my favorite so I went again. My friend Scott bought tickets in the exact area I would have (second tier in front of the soundboard). I mentioned my preference but said I’d be happy sitting anywhere.

I have a Fellini’s dinner tonight with my other friend Scott, plus yoga this morning.

Wordle in 4 starting with FROST.

    • While this be a strain and not a tear, I have plenty of epsom salts and may take a long bath for no other reason than to escape some of the mounting stress in my life currently.

    • Jenka says:

Love Fellini’s. Which one do you go to?

      • David says:

Ponce used to be my go to, but I gravitate toward the Candler Park one more often than not as of late. My daughter has mock trial on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 8:30, so Thursdays have become Fellini’s night because it’s near her school. Somehow Fellini’s fell off of my radar for years, but it’s firmly back again.

        • Jenka says:

We go to the Candler Park one a lot because it’s 3 seconds from our house. I also used to go to yoga at Jai Shanti (before it closed) which was right there and then hit Fellini’s afterward.

          • David says:

Oh, yoga and then Fellini’s would be lovely. I first got involved in yoga because one of my friends had a passing fancy about starting a beer yoga concept. He set up classes at a couple of different breweries where we did an hour of yoga and then drank beer afterwards. It definitely made yoga approachable, and I haven’t looked back.

I’d suggest meeting y’all at Fellini’s sometime but then you’d have to talk to someone, and that just doesn’t seem to work for you. 🙂 I mean, I guess you DID talk to Kevin at some point… 😉

        • My only problem with Candler Park are the children. Do I sound like the grumpy old man that I am?

  2. Another foggy morning? Where are we, London?

  3. Jenka says:

Not only is it foggy but it’s also 70 friggin’ degrees. Can we please have winter?

Went to Pure for dinner last night. Another PSA to those of us who are old/don’t like people: go to Inman Park restaurants at like 6:00, because by 7:30 they are packed out with millennials. But it’s great for the restaurants and it means I’m on the couch in my jammies NLT 8:00.

  4. Forgot to mention that my knee pain also squelched an idea I had for a very long walk today. I will reveal my idea when it’s done, probably tomorrow, most likely I will be driving to it then.

  5. Here is a rare moment of positivity: all of my planted garlic bulbs seem to be sprouting. Fingers crossed for a bumper crop of garlic next summer.

    Wordle in 4.

Off today, burning PTO. Need to ride today, as tomorrow looks like a washout.

I also need to do a few chores and think about Christmas shopping. Yuck.

Caught up on Yellowstone last night. Interesting to see plot lines develop and imagine where they might go.

  7. And I also forgot to mention that my dinner last night was really good. It may have been improved only by a little restraint on the amount of ricotta cheese I added. Sometimes I have a tendency to eyeball instead of measure, and I think I was a lily too generous last night.

  8. Steve says:

And now, a public service announcement:

It is NOT warm outside, it is FREAKING HOT!

    23 miles and I’m a puddle.

  9. Barb says:

I wore a jacket when we ran out to lunch (& Aldi), definitely didn’t need it.

Making Turkey Soup, Turkey Chili and a Turkey casserole today. I will make the turkey that is taking up space in my fridge go away. (or at least, go to the freezer).
Never have Thanksgiving & a party with turkey the next week, if you MUST make stock from the turkey carcasses. So much stock……. & soup……..
