Yesterday’s Wordle irony. If you recall, I incorrectly used infer instead of imply in a response to Ham’s comment last Friday. This is why I found it ironic that I struggled so mightily to come up with INFER as yesterday’s Wordle solution.

If my knee issues abate I will be signing up for Big BRAG soon. I will be choosing to do the entire thing, so I guess I will also have to ensure I can take the time off if I am working again by then. I am still on the fence about whether or not I am going to do Spring Tune Up; it was completely spoiled for me last year and I may want to find an alternative.

I solved today’s Wordle in four attempts; my starter today was NOISE. Could have gotten it in three, but covered some bases by playing a word that eliminated a lot of possible letters instead.

  1. My body is in “Death by 1000 paper cuts mode”. I have so many niggling injuries and ailments, that when combined, make me miserable.

    Wordle in 3 starting withAISLE.

About to get on the scooter and find breakfast/run errands.

Yesterday’s ride of a bit more than 20 had my legs feeling it was 40 and I’m not sure why. I always sprint the final uphill and I used a bigger gear than normal, so maybe that’s it.

Tomorrow, a Christmas party at the home of one of the hunt masters. We may get all dolled up- well, at least Debbie will.

Sorry your body is being a pain (see what I did there) . Growing old ain’t for sissies.

Wordle in 4, coulda been in 3 but I guessed wrong on the 5th letter.

TGIF. I’m counting down the days to next Saturday when my wife moves out.

I never got around to doing the wordle yesterday I jsut realized.

Yesterday- in between working, we made Turkey Soup, Turkey Chili and a Turkey casserole.
Never have Thanksgiving & a party with turkey the next week, if you MUST make stock from the turkey carcasses (Allan can’t just throw away a turkey carcass). So much stock……. & soup……..
Ate some chili for dinner – it is always different -as I don’t use a recipe. It was good.
    Casserole went into the freezer.
Still haven’t figured out what to do with all the soup, we are running out of freezer space & plastic containers. I may experiment with the vacuum sealer today, I’ve never done anything liquidy.

Today is Finn’s birthday but he goes to his mother’s so we did our traditional Finn birthday trip to Nakato for dinner last night. He loves the onion volcano and then the wait staff always sing happy birthday. He is 17 today, can’t believe it! For his birthday he got to download the Sonic movie to his iPad so he can watch it whenever he wants. He is so happy.

We leave for Belize tomorrow morning! It was supposed to be a 50th birthday party for our dear friend Elayne and we were going to spend 5 days on a catamaran, but yesterday the birthday girl tested positive for Covid. We can’t change our flights so now we’re just going to book a resort somewhere. Honestly I had to move heaven and earth to get myself free at this time of the semester, and we had to horse trade with Finn’s mother to keep him for a week, so we’re goddamned going to goddamned Belize. Goddamnit.

    • Barb says:

OMG Jenka!!!! That totally sucks for your friend, and for you to have to come up with last minute reservations & plans. Wow.
But – I’m sure you 2 will have a blast – how many others were supposed to be going? Is the rest of the party just going?

      • Steve Brady says:

Holy crap! Hope the trip is still a success. I hope to get down there and dive some day.

      • Jenka says:

Sorry, it has been a very busy day at work as I try to wrap up everything that can’t wait a week. AND try to find a nice resort that has availability tomorrow.

It was supposed to be 8 people: 3 couples and 2 single ladies. I managed to change our return flight so we’re not going to be there for the full week. I wouldn’t know what to do with myself that long.

  6. Steve Brady says:

A bit chilly on the scooter, but not bad. I thpught id had the breakfast place to myself, but the place is packed. Dont these people have jobs?1

  7. Barb says:

SPRING TUNE UP – make new memories – I mean, Cameron is planning on being there. If he can, I think you can.
David – you should join us too. I told Minty she should join us. I think the roads will be too messy to ride tomorrow, and Allan doesn’t want to wash my bike, so I may have to bail on the riding tomorrow morning idea.

    • David says:

I think about it for sure. It’ll depend on the custody schedule that gets worked out. I’m not going to rock the boat more than I have to.

    • Still an option, but you know me well enough to know how miserable I can be…

      • Barb says:

but Paulie – its more fun to harass you in person – other wise we just have to just talk about you. That isn’t as fun.
And – we will bring some “little debbie” drinks???? 😉

  8. Sitting in my car waiting for the rain to stop being so heavy before I make a lunch run. Been a busy, busy day.

  9. Deborah Brady says:

Wordle in 2 starting with SLATE. That was some kinda lucky!!

It is really hard to be motivated about doing ANY work. I’m only going to do some file cleanup to get things orderly for whoever takes on my one pending project. There’s no way to finish it in the next two weeks.

Fun ladies Christmas dinner/party last night. It was quite the crowd of the horsey set. It was nice to visit with everyone and the dirty Santa exchange was hysterical.

  10. Belly full of food, now chilling at the Chamblee library for awhile. I assume I will be meeting up with my drinking buddies later this afternoon so I decided to stay north of where we normally meet and catch up on some work at the library.

  11. Steve says:

Wow. Back home and was surprised to see you mention rain. We still have cloudy sunshine and it looks like it might stay north.

    • Looks to be north of 85. Wonder if WLF got any.

      • David says:

Yes, tons of rain. It was raining in Midtown, and now that I’m back home I can tell that it’s been raining here for a while.

    • Barb says:

we got a TON of rain. It’s been miserable all day.

Kristina (Ramaho) is coming over for dinner, and then we will go to Hash Happy Hour for drinks. It’s at Lassiters, and I’m sure the food there is fine, but we have way too much soup. (have I mentioned that yet? hahahaha)

  12. Barb says:

DID ANYONE WATCH THE END OF THAT CROATIA – BRAZIL MATCH???
    WOW……..
