Sometimes time, in the near term, fucks with my brain. I can’t believe that it’s been six months since I did BRAG and spent time at Jill’s cabin, and nearly six months since I rode my bike up in Blue Ridge.

I’m trying to plan my 2023, in addition to riding BRAG in June. The goal will be to lose twenty pounds by Big BRAG.

If the roads are safe for travel tonight I will be headed to Shakespeare Tavern for their performance of “A Christmas Carol”. I wish that I were as thin as I was this time last year so my clothes would fit better.

I solved today’s Wordle in four attempts; my starter today was CLEAT

Wordle in 4 starting with FLOCK.

I hope your plans go through, Paulie. Merry Christmas to those that celebrate!

  2. Brrr. I will be interested to see what’s still alive in WLF when I get back to it next week. Conversely, this freeze could be very good for my garlic. *fingers crossed*

  3. Glad I didn’t go out to watch my NJ Jets lay another turd. After forcing a fumble on the Jags first drive they shat the bed for the rest of the game, well, at least the first half since I turned the game off at halftime.

I went to Roswell to do a Christmas ramble with the Chattahooligans – but Sal &I decided to just walk, didn’t feel like loading up the bikes, etc. It wasn’t much riding really – just up & down Canton St. It was fun catching up with that gang, we need to get to that part of the ‘burbs more often, its a good group of people.

Today is a work day, but not much going on, so I have to be around my computer some, but not that much. So I’m thinking a slightly long lunch might be in order. We might go to Hankook Taqueria – if any of y’all want to meet up. Not sure what time yet.

    • I’d join you but I am on a strict meal plan in order to eat all of the leftovers in my refrigerator. I am allowing myself a small meal at Shakespeare Tavern tonight, perhaps the bleu cheese salad if it’s still on the menu.

Briefly went outside and saw that many things have been blown around, though no apparent damage to the ITP Estate nor WLF.

      Somewhat dreading my journey tomorrow.

Davey told me Jill isn’t feeling well so her seat is up for grabs – but Allan is home, so I can’t go without him. Plus, we have to work on our beef wellington for dinner tomorrow night.

        • I heard from Sue this morning that a ticket was available, but I didn’t inquire whose. That’s too bad for Jill.

Beef Wellington? Fancy! Practicing to go on Master Chef? Lol

  5. Really going to hate paying my gas and electric bills next month.

Good morning from Frozen Hurricane Farm! Holy crap- I know they said it would be windy as the front went through, but damn.

Power was out for a while through the night. While we prepared for cold, we didn’t prepare for no power. Fortunately, all is back on. I saw on social media that Martha’s power is out.

Horses seem fine this morning. Their water is still unfrozen, but that may change at any time. The kitties are still in the man cave, where it was 30 inside.

45 minutes of 250W intervals yesterday. Fun! Wordle in 4 starting with TREAD.

Happy Festivus and Merry Christmas, all.

    • The ITP Estate’s power went out briefly around 2am. I was awakened by some noises and then saw the thermostat panel go dark. Loss of power is my only fear for going away during this weather. The ITP Estate’s pipes have never frozen, and as long as there is power I can keep the internal temperature well above freezing. I also intend to let a faucet drip while I am away, so add fear of my next the water bill to the electrical and gas bills.

After the idiots in Moore County, NC shot up the substation and they were out for 4 days, I was a little worried. GP was Johnnie on the spot, so…

At the old house on Bluebird, I got up to go to work one cold azz morning and the hot water wasn’t running. The HWH was outside in the little room off the carport and the pipe ran outside, underground and into the house. I heated up the kettle and poured hot water on that exposed pipe and heard a WOOSH. Water, unfrozen.

Off work today, just chillin’ at home. No literally- our furnace isn’t working! Currently mid-50s in the house. Kevin called the fix-it company. At least we have power!

Kevin actually has a deposition today so I am thinking I’ll take Finn out to do errands and maybe get food.

Wordle in 4 starting with BLAHS.

I’m working today and will likely have to work next week as well (technically our office closed yesterday and does not reopen until the 3rd). My attitude sucks, but I’ll be a good soldier for another 10 days.

I’ve found the golden ticket to getting the horses to drink lots of water. Now I’m worried about their genitals getting frostbite from having to pee so often. 🙂 I’m feeling good that all will be well.

Halfway through typing the sentence above, I looked out my office window to see a jailbreak in progress. Apparently, we did not securely latch one gate when we were moving things around. Thank God they are extremely food motivated. I shook a bucket of grain and they all trotted right back in. Well except the donkey, but she got FOMO pretty quickly and rejoined the herd.

I’ve still got a grocery run to make before Sunday and a little gathering this evening with hunt friends, but other than that we’re hunkering down and staying home.

Merry Christmas! Safe travels and stay warm.

I love the jailbreaks – your horses are too funny. Its freakin cold out there. That wind just bites – it reminds me of Iowa way too much.

Hankook was tasty as always – then ran to Kroger to look for Brachs chocolate stars – no luck. I really don’t want to go to Walmart – so – I will not be baking any cookies. (that’s better for me anyway)

  9. Forty easy minutes on the trainer, and then stopped because my knee started acting up. This will be the most “intense” exercise I get for a handful of days, so it’s better than nothing.

  10. Holy crap, I just did a spin around WLF and it is still REALLY cold. As expected a lot of stuff was blown around, and any plants which did not get covered look very, very sad.
